Can someone tell me if this is Silver Dollar sized?
http://www.stevensmagic.com/index.php?ma......_id=4084 I am also looking desperately for this: http://www.seomagic-usa.com/catalog/prod......ae2c148b But is is sold out. I could go berzerk. Can anyone provide me with a store link who has this coin for 10 bucks? I need one of those coins for a spell bound routne, done with silver dollars. Thanks a lot in advance Markus

The first coin you linked is 3/4 of an inch larger in diameter than a silver dollar. It's actually a pretty weird size since jumbo coins tend to be 3", but I'm sure there is some purpose to it.
I'm afraid I don't know where you can get that specific coin, but I would recommend that you look for real Chinese/Japanese coins on Ebay - Just search in the coins section for '38mm Japanese' or whatever your requirements are and select the 'include item description' box. Works a charm and if you search around you can get great looking coins for not much money. ~ Pete. |

If you go berzerk, you'll be in good company here, We all seem to suffer from that to some degree.
The "Big Auction" has lots of Chinese coins. The trick is to find listings that show the diameter. This can take a long time but it should pay off. 38mm coins work fine but slightly larger (40mm) are better for me. Since they are darker color, they appear to be the same size as a dollar. Prepare to wait a couple of weeks if they are coming from China. Johnson has a dollar size coin that may work for you.

If they're out of stock, there's not much for you as far as that design. I would also like you to note that it's not the highest quality coin. Mine's chipped up a bit from normal use. I can send you pics if you'd like. I still like the coin though. As far as more chinese coins, check out my sig. I have a lot of chinese coins listed. I'm always adding more. |

Thanks for the help. actually its nothing special about seo itself. I just was happy to found a dollar sized asian coin (hole in the middle) which was unused available at only $10. So that's what I am really looking for. I will try ebay. If someone know any stores which sellls such coins (Dollar sized, asian, hole) for around 10 it woul be fantastic.

Not to be picky, well I guess it is, but the coins depicted are Japanese and not Chinese. I truly am not trying to be picky I just think it is funny and I'm not a know it all or anything I actually just looked it up right now because I thought it odd to have a Japanese manufacturer on a Chinese coin. They are very nice and have a good background to them the first one depicted is actually a Wado Kaichin which is what the four characters on the front say, roughly meaning 'Japanese copper initial money.' This coin's front is a copy of a coin that was minted anywhere from the 708 to 985AD and was the earliest known Japanese coin to be made. The back has the 11 wave design which is actually from an entirely different coin minted a thousand years latter. Not that any of this is helpful all in all.
Now that I digressed, back on topic. A good sight to look at for size refrences and coin refrences at all for that mater is http://www.themagicianscoin.com/ This is a very helpful sight to have bookmarked or at least I find it so. Red |

I never said this is a chinese coin. I said "Asian". I know the difference between chinese and japanese. Why? Because I am studying Japanese at University. So I dot not really get your point. But thx anyways.

The fact is that most if not all routines using Asian coins use the term "Chinese Coins" in their names. Thus most will tend to call them Chinese coins whether they are truly Chinese or not. I believe that most here are probably already aware of your "picky" fact. Sooo... what's your point?

More of an interesting tidbit on the history of that particular coin, but as I kept trying to reword it to sound less nit picky I realized that most of you wouldn't think I was being pretentious and stop rewording.
Allot of times I like to draw on history to tell a story with my magic and unlike most "Chinese coins," which where never actually true currency, these have a interesting past. I also looked up how much a real one would cost and the listing I found was $3,800. Say goodbye to the zig-zag. you'll just have to wait. Red |
