Greetings fellow magicians, I have been on a search for a long time for the most preferred TNR effect. I know there are many, I have gone through a few myself- Reparation, TORN, Best of all Worlds, etc... And was just looking to see what people like the most, either by way of ease-of-use or overall audience reaction. Any thoughts?

Of course the mother of all TnR routines is Hollingworth's Reformation in Drawing Room Deceptions. I've learned it about 80% and then will work on something else, then have to go back and start all over. It's very tough, but I do believe it's the best I've ever seen. However, I've had a lot of success with Ripped and Restored by Yves Doumerge. It is a piece by piece restoration and is not too difficult.

I've always liked J.C. Wagner's T&R.

I heard from a friend that anecdotal evidence is actually quite reliable. |

We all haved out favorite T and R but believe me Quaterely returns is the best for walk around . it has a flash restoration . piece by piece is not sutiable for walk around or table hopping . Quarerly returns can be preformed surrounded

I just picked up Mathieu Bich's TNR. I love it. The look on my wife's face alone was worth the price and effort to put it together. She seemed to think it was weird that the piece were holding together, but accepted it because she sees weird things happen all the time. However, turning the card over and revealing a totally different card had her making a face I can only describe as helpless. It was awesome.

Jamie Daws has a decent TnR called Faultless that has an interesting take on the tnr routine, I'll also throw another shout out for Hollingworth's Reformation. Another that uses the principle but not so much the total torn and restored practice is Daniel Garcia's Torn Too, from what I hear, it's great for walk around! I'm personaly a user of Torn by DG, hasn't failed me yet!

My personal favorite is restored matrix by Dani DaOrtiz. Combining matrix and T&R with a signed card is something truly marvelous.

I'm with you Motown! DeCova's version is excellent. If it was good enough for Copperfield, it's good enough for everyone.

The Billy McComb SIGNED T&R Card is a real worker.
You can get the booklet from Myles Sinclair at Magical Wonders: http://www.magicalwonders.com/acatalog/Exclusives3.shtml To reiterate, this is a SIGNED torn and restored card - and the spectators see the signature side torn throughout. The method is pure genius and the (illustrated) booklet for a fiver is a bargain. The diagrams are also on a separate sheet - so you don't have to learn the routine with torn card in the hands whilst you turn the pages with your feet!
