I used a stationary grinder wheel and a pair of vise grips (with felt padding) to whittle down the edge of mine to fit my expanded ]. Took about 2 minutes and fits like a glove!
Makes for a good effect if you use a shimmed ] and a PK ring too... presto, chango!

A lathe with proper attachment works well.
