Ok, I'm just posting to rant. I want to kill myself and it's only been a few hours of this crap. For my state, I have to get a separate business license for EVERY SINGLE CITY that I want to perform in. WHAT?!!! Everyone wants a cut (and not a small one either). Grrr.

A magic store on top of everything else? Great...now I have to get another license AND pay sales tax at regular intervals to every one of these municipalities. Oh my gosh...I actually may not make money on this store...thanks government.

My stupid morals require me to be legal. lol. It's surely frustrating to see a lot of hard-earned money go to the government. In addition to the business license fees I also have to pay sales tax to multiple entities. This is MUCH more confusing than rocket science!! *sigh*

Ok...rant over for now. Now I have to just get licensed in 2-3 more cities, figure out this sales tax reporting thing, and I'll be done. Psh, yeah right...it's never over. I just want to be a magician.

I hear you, it can be frustrating dealing with all of that. I'm very fortunate I haven't had to get business licenses here in Oregon.

It's easy to see one reason brick and mortar shops aren't popular!

Keep your head down, power through, and bump up your rates to cover the taxes!

You should check into that a little more..
usually its not for services based out of another town.. but for businesses who have multiple locations

don't ASK the Goverment.. most of them don't KNOW
Ask an accountant

Hmmm...interesting thought there Mike. I might need to do just that. This thing is getting way out of hand. EVERYONE (and I do mean everyone) wants a piece of this pie and it's getting ridiculous.
