Howdy all:

I got to looking at my playing cards today. The brand is Hoyle. and I noticed that the white border on the back seemed to be a tad wider on one side. so I took a closer look.On the back you have the white border and then a red (for a red deck) background. maybe a 32nd of a inch is a white line and then the design in white.

If you hold the cards together they line up. turn one around and the are off set by the distance from the edge of the red background to the white line border!! And every card in the deck is this way right out of the box. I opened a 2nd red deck and a blue deck and they are all offset by that much, I say a 32nd it may be a little less but it is noticeable. All so the seal of all my decks can be pealed back with out tearing!! rofl. imagine the possibilities.

Anybody notice this with their Hoyle brand playing cards?

Illusion and magic is the same, if it was possible to achieve the impossible by genuine powers then it wouldn’t be impossible and therefore it wouldn’t be magic. That’s why magic is an art; the art of creating the illusion of the impossible.

Yep...it so happens that all brands of cards (not just Hoyle) suffer this malady at times...

This is due to an irregularity when cutting the card stock from the sheets. The printing is actually done right but the cutting is a sometimes little off-set. Nice feature anyway!!!

I agree that this "defect" can be a great one-way utility. But my downside is that when doing Torn, it can be a bit noticable =( , I had a brick of bikes with every deck with this offset.

I have noticed the offset quite a bit on the recent decks from USPCC. I was very disappointed when my Lefty Deck was this way. Hopefully things will change in the near future.

I once got a deck where the cards had the border running through the center of the card vertically so there were two half cards on each card.
