I stumbled across a set of "Silk Serenade" here, the usual "records" and the sleeve. How were the ones from Tenyo labelled? This set mentions Harry Stanley (the publisher of so many British magic books) as the bandleader. Did Supreme make this set originally?

The tune on the Tenyo records was "Lullabye of the Leaves."

Then, apparently, the one I have is much older. Must be Supreme. As always, THANK YOU, Bill! This one says, "Silks Serenade", must be an original.

I don't think it's Supreme if that's the label fella - it's more than likely a 1960's Harry Stanley Original from the Unique Magic Studio, London. Harry had this added to the label as an 'in joke' as many didn't know he had previously been a member of a Show Band.
As far as I know, when Harry ceased trading around 1971, his remaining (albeit dwindling) stock of magic was primarily sold to Ron McMillan at International Magic, Clerkenwell Road, London and Tony Corinda (the Mentalist) who had a magic shop at that time in Tottenham Court Road London. However, he did sell the rights to his publications to Edwin Hooper of Supreme Magic, Bideford, Devon. If it was a Supreme Magic version, then I'll guarantee you one thing for certain - Edwin would have ensured that it carried their brand logo!

Merc,
Thanks for that note! That's quite informative. Must be an original Harry Stanley, then. That being said, anyone want to buy it? Steve |
