You can always buy used illusions that magicians are trying to sell.

I am the king of cheap. I have a lot of luck finding major illusions for less than $1000. They are used, but still in great condition. (My ATA cases cost more than the illusions in them.) My fav places are Craigslist.com and eBay.

For Craigslist, go to the Las Vegas, Atlantic City, or Branson Missouri listings. Every now and then, a magic show will end its run at a theater, and the illusions and props are listed here. Also, every now and then, a magician's assistant divorces or breaks up with a magician and lists props they have as revenge. (Insert joke here.)

For eBay, search words like : illusion, magic, asrah, sawing. You can always browse the "Magic-->Tricks" section, but better deals can be found in other ways. Try searching for misspelled magic words , like "ashra" instead of "asrah". Some folks are not very careful of how they list stuff on eBay. They will misspell words or list them in the wrong category. If you know which illusions you are looking for, a wider search is better than browsing a category. Also try searching listings in "Any country or region". Many international sellers will ship to the U.S. Magicians let go of old illusions for many reasons: making space in their storage, adding new illusions to replace their old ones. One person was selling his sword suspension for $700 to pay his old parking tickets and fines.

Also try other lesser known online auction places like "iOffer.com".

Most importantly:

Never ever buy an illusion from Snap illusions

Happy Hunting.

I would like to say, there are no cheap tricks on the market. There are cheaply made tricks, but even these are expensive.

I would suggest you simply go to your local Library and check on the magic books available from them. Magic is usually in the games and puzzle section of the library. Also check out there DVD section, as some libraries carry magic DVDs, out local library even has the Slydini DVDs.

This will give you many great magic trick to do your your friends and family.

Additionally, it is not about cheap tricks, it is about what you like to perform. If you have a hundred cheap tricks and do not like any of them, what good are they to you. Just items you do not respect or perform.

Then if you can afford it buy "Mark Wilson's Course in Magic", sold at most book stores and on line bookstores. This will give you a basis and knowledge of all kinds and types of magic to be introduced to from close-up to stage to Illusions.

Thanks for your question and I wish you success in your desire to perform magic.

Murray Hatfield had a fantastic line in his recent lecture. He was talking about knock offs and said, "If you can't afford the illusion, you can't afford to perform it." But I disgress since it would a huge assumption for me to conclude that the original poster was looking for knock offs. Indeed, there are tremendous bargains to be had from time to time; but you really need to know what you're looking for. An illusion can be cheaper than cheap, but if it doesn't fit in your show, it's just a waste of money.

Magiciscool, when you say Cheap I hope you're talking about the price and not the quality...
What price range are you looking at?
