Don't remember the name, but where you show the four jacks in a fan, close the fan, put it on top of the deck, insert them into four different places, and voila, they are back on top (there are four misc. cards hidden behind the fan to begin with)....

Good times. A lot of good memories with this question!

Hehe, I also don´t know the name but that was the first card trick I learned.
the plot was that the pack is a bank building and the four jacks are robbers.
three of them are going in different places in the building, one is on top and looks out.
then the police comes and they are instantly all four on top ready to leave.

Mine too. At least for the people I know it is quite a classic since we were all really young. Unfortunately it made that every one always suspect a DL!!! Than "key card" and "one way deck" pick a card and I'll find it.

Four robbers (jacks) and I had forgotten all about this until I saw this post. LOL. And yeah, rubbing the quarter with the elbow. Then my mom took me to the library got a book on magic, where I learned the disappearing hanky with a very primitive "pull." I looked ridiculous walking around the house in a suit coat and shorts in the summertime at age 6.

I'm sorry I meant pull my finger.

You either had bad digestion early or got into magic late Smile

For me it was classic Color Monte, and it is still one of my favourites.

My first trick? Ever? Wow...that would be Nickles To Dimes, circa 1970. I went to DisneyLand's Magic Shop in Anaheim, and was amazed by that little trick and bought it right away! I recommend that for any beginner!

Mine was the Egg Bag, and good grief, that was 60 years ago. I did it in school, and got to perform in front of the entire school!

Six years later, I had added Zombie (though I think it must have had a different name at the time), Linking Rings and an escape from a sack routine.

Hmmm first ever trick, I am almost certain it was a vanish and reproduction of a quarter. It was shown to me by an old family friend who dabbled in magic throughout his life. Good ol' french drop and pulling it from the sleeve. I still do it today Smile

always in magic

Well I did some tricks as a kid, but nothing that I took very seriously.
The first trick I really remember enjoying was the Invisible Deck.
