So I completely overlooked letting you know I posted my comments, Stefan. Sorry about that. Anyhow, the line about it being too strong of an opener is that good predictions by themselves are very strong. When one begins an act with it, it's very difficult to top that. Some people like doing that, though. However, one can work this so that it could be a beautiful finale to ... oh, that would be telling, especially since I may be using the idea! Just got Mes(s)merize last night, it reads brilliantly. Now I can't wait to have an opportunity do it.

Bought the e-book earlier today, and I must say that the effect reads really great. I am really looking forward to start working on it, and even more to start performing it.
Thank you. -Johannes |

Ok,
I had to check this out and I'm glad I did. I expected yet another slit envelope or something alike... and to my surprise I found NONE! Also Stefan has done his research and he credits past magicians who have used an alike principle (Note: You may want to include Tony Binarelli which in the 90' came up with a killer Open Prediction) but I confess that I've never seen that principle used with the scope and application Stefan came up with. And when you consider that the simple material used will cost you only a few bucks... this may easily be one of the best predictions / influence / kismet effects for a stage. Recommended!
Then you'll rise right before my eyes, on wings that fill the sky, like a phoenix rising!

I had the opportunity to review this the other night during our Magic Marketplace show and here are a few of my thoughts from the show:
Mes(s)merize: - An incredibly fair prediction effect with not one but two killer revelations! Pros: - This is a one person effect! You won't need any off-stage assistants or help to pull this off. - The method employed is incredibly easy to pull off and lets you focus on the presentation. - This packs small and plays big. I really loved the 'mess' part of Mes(s)merize. Cons: - There's a gimmick that isn't included and you need to construct. The good news is that this isn't a bad thing though because it's an incredibly easy gimmick to construct. Overall: This is a very smart effect that is perfect to add into your act. You'll be doing this in no time and honestly the price for this is so low for the impact this will have on your spectators. Job well done Stefan! |

Luke,
thanks for the cool review I don't consider the con a real con - the gimmick is really so easy to construct at almost no cost that I hope a few people will take the plunge and get my book ;-) Stefan |
