How is this different from Scott Alexander's marketed 'Velocity?'

Without going into the methods of either, the workings are completely different. You can put Alan's together for £5-£15 after the purchase of the ebook, where as Velocity comes with everything you need, but has a MUCH higher pricetag!

I'm sure some of the other guys who've played with both will chime in soon enough, Ben Williams, etc.

This is a really cool effect. I have not performed it myself but it is very practical and I still might use it in a stage show at some point. Very well constructed routine.

Hey folks. This is the routine that recently wont me the title of "Magician of the year 2011" at the magicfest convention in Edinburgh. Hopefully well be able to use some demo footage from them woohoo.... But in the mean time.. keep in mind its an award winning routine!

Alan- did you consider doing this for P&T Fool Us? Sounds like it would have been cool, but then again they would probably have known the method

There is a post somewhere about performing a paintball bullet catch on America's got talent and they did not like it at all

P&T would have gone off on DANGER DANGER mode like the roulette effect

been considering this for a long time, might have to dip in and try it!

nice job on P&T Alan if you didn't see me say elsewhere, really liked the routine and development of an effect kind of idea.

I bought this when it first came out and I could never find the type of gun Alan suggests. Searching Ebay you will find all the guns are compressed air.
