And recommendations on a good dancing cane that lights up (a-la Jeff McBride's Revolution cane).

If you want to have the most proffesional result you will probably have to get one from mc bride but costs a lot.(if I remember well 500$) for something cheaper you can check : madhattermagicshop.com/magicshop/product_info.php?products_id=8262.

Actully, Jeff McBride's has been "out of stock" for some time now. With the DVD it sold for $319.00 for one Vortex Cane and $598.00 with 2 Vortex Canes.

The suggestion above by Harry Semtic may be a alternative.

Excuse me for increasing the price of jeff's cane.
btw here there is also another light up cane from juan mayoral.you can also check this:
http://www.worldmagicstore.com/light-dan......ency=EUR

it is real that in order to get nice results on dancing cane routines you need one perfectly balanced.in my opinion,if you practise it very well, the technique can save you,you do not need to try high-risk moves.in fact most of them(again in my opinion) are giving away the fact that the cane is somehow controlled with thread.I would suggest the cheap solution (at lease for the beginning).you can practise with them and see if they suit your needs.I do not know the differences between the different types but only the thought of changing mind and having paid 600$ makes me think that you must be really sure and have tested it a little bit more.

Jeff tips the cane handling method in his lecture. I like the effect of this, as it is simpler than a standard dancing cane, and the built in lighting enhances the effect like a black art concept.
I am not enamored of the Mayoral cane.

Of what? Juan Mayoral's cane, whih has a different design, does not break into two pieces but, on the other hand...lights up?
