Thank you for all your kind words.I hate to see the figures and puppets in storage outta sight. So I decided to set up the showroom for myself to see what I have. That will help me to improve on my work as well as it helps to inspire others besides myself.
Ony,I am looking forward to seeing you again.
I've got other puppets and props but didn't want to make the place look cluttered.

Well with that logic in the mix, maybe I should think about giving JET a showroom. How big is the room you had to use Frankie? Of course we would need a certain amount of space to start with, but then it would be crazy not to allow some room to grow with. Our biggest problem is that everything that is made goes to someone else. JET has made two puppets for herself that she uses at Church and refuses to sell. Other than that, or when she is making up in advance for ConVENTion, there isn't really time to do more.

I've got to echo CaptKirk, my first thought looking at the pics was "Too Cool!" even before I saw his post.
I love the marionettes especially!

The space used was about 800 square feet. The other two thousand 500 square feet is used for storage, office and workshop. For me,I usually like to have visual elements surrounding me to keep me inspired.I guess the best place to start is with what you have and where you are.I started by decorating my office. However, for now,all my office walls are filled with drawings/sketches and my wanted to do list...which is a very long list!
I know how it feels when you take so long to make a puppet and when you've finished,it goes to someone else. It's like selling your babies.
I do mostly customed work and seldom mass produced.

I glad that I seem to be one of the few guys to visit his office. Smile It's more impressive when you are there physically.

I like your concept Frankie. The inspiration part is almost what we have here since there is almost always 7 or 8 puppets in "process" in various stages of completion. Right now the shoppe is about 1,500 sq. ft. with another 400 sq. ft. for a photo studio where we make all our fun videos. Then there is about 600 sq. ft. for the "wardrobe" department. I currently have plans to expand the shoppe area by almost double, because as you know, with several characters in the making, along with equipment, ventilated gluing room, air brush station etc. it is almost elbows to elbows with a couple of assistants thrown into the mix. They are both becoming pretty good at making but it all takes room. Fortunately, the office is separate from all the insanity so I don't get in the way very much.

Before we finished the first shoppe area, it used to get really creepie when I would get up to sneak a snack in the middle of the night and there was a bunch of little "snitches" staring at me ready to tell on me for whatever I ate. I had several good heart-to-heart talks with these little tattle-tales wherein I informed them if they did not stop telling on me that I would perform criminal acts on them and dismember their little bodies. (Life in a puppet shoppe can be very intimidating)

Of course you can visit my place Wanlu. In fact anyone passing by S'pore are more than welcome to drop by for a cuppa and some puppet talk!
Well Steve, keep expanding!! Wherever you have a space, put a puppet there and display it proudly! I find that it helps me fall in love with puppets all over again.Sometimes they do try and tell you something and if you do take time to listen, you can almost hear them whispering about their hobbies.

Frankie,

JET will keep forcing the issue of expansion. We have a total of 6,000 ft. within the structure that we can expand to. Beyond that we are looking at major expense to expand the structure. (And to think that at one time this was going to all be MY workshop. oops)

Hahaha if I have 6000 square feet,I'll include a mini theatre and a coffee corner, with a puppet making workshop area for customers.
Cahyo, you can come and bring along one of your illusion as entrance fee.
