I have a bit of a graphic design background and haven't done anything to artsy latelly. I'd be up for designing a cheeky logo or 2 if anyones in need. Anyone fancy a free logo?

Free logo and graphic design? (sigh) I guess it is nice to offer but it certainly does not get folks seeing the true value in what we as professional designers go through.

Oh my... Thanks for all the kind requests, both through this thread and personal message. I have plenty to be getting on with so no more requests for now I'm afraid. My bad if I haven't replied to you personally. I'll try to get around to as many as possible.

I don't know about that, Kyle. Free samples have been a tried-and-true way of getting people to appreciate a product. If they thought it was easy, they'd do it themselves!

Star: I do hear you. I really do. The problem is too many magicians really do try and do it themsleves and even more love it when they can get something for nothing. It just stinks as a profesisonal graphic designer and illustrator when I have to fight folks who see no real value in what I do and offer. Just a pet peeve of mine is all.

I have also seen people blatantly rip off other performer's logos. I have a very close friend who paid $350 for his logo, and someone wrote to me with my buddy's logo on their letterhead! They had simply inserted their own name over his. Of course, it looked poor, since he did not have the original art with color separations and all, but he still stole it.

There are experts in all areas. As low-margin, one-man operations, we simply cannot pay for every professional service that we would like to. I'd LOVE to have a professional designer, writer, sound editor, videographer, copywriter, photographer, lighting director, PR firm, personal manager, and secretary. It is obviously the smart way to go. But if I did that I would be living on bread and water in the local shelter. I simply do not make enough money as a local entertainer. So I hire what I see as the most important aspect where my money will be best spent, and I am a DIY guy for the rest.

I have seen Oliver's work, and quite honestly am impressed. I expected to see something that looks like "clip art". well, I am eating my words!

Darn would love to get one......looks like he is overwelmed now.
