I'm originally from Charlottetown.
Halifax has a big busking festival in the late summer I believe. On PEI in the summer there's Victoria Row which some have worked... but not seriously. There's also Peake's Quay but you'd have to watch your step and keep a low profile. There's also the Farmer's Market. I'm not sure about New Brunswick or Newfoundland. hope that helps a little dave

I'm from Halifax and we've got a great waterfront board walk which is open for busking. There are a few spots that busking isn't allowed but the security guards tend to be good about directing you to spots you can perform. The only time you can't freely busk is during the buskers festival, only invited acts are supposed to perform.

I usually pop down a couple times in the summer just for fun. If the weather is good you can usually get a crowd of 10-20 people in about 10 minutes. You don't have to worry about stepping on any one's toes or turf, we're all pretty nice here.

Bill's right. Everybody is pretty friendly...
It's a place that's easy to ask forgiveness-- but tough to ask permission. :) Bill-- do you know if they hire re-enactors for Fort Louisbourg? If so, if you're into that TTT, it might be worth checking out. And try to make it to PEI if you can, it's a hopping spot from mid-July to mid-August. best d

PEI, Canada's Smallest Province, is just North of Nova Scotia, and just East of New Brunswick
http://www.tourismpei.com/index.php3 and Fort Louisbourg http://www.pc.gc.ca/lhn-nhs/ns/louisbourg/index.aspx my thought there was that they might make use of a busker's skill like a Ren Faire. best d
