I tried to go for that Doug Henning look, jeans, tye dyed T shirt suspenders but was missing Hennings energy (im also not 26 yrs old) so I went with a dark suit, a Royal Blue (old IBM typewriter blue and a red bow tie, it looks good, just flashy enough for a performer/entertainer and it works for me, which is all that matters really

I would add a pair of red suspenders to finish off the look.

Sounds good.

Remember that it's not only the individual's looks, personal "energy" or whatever, but also the TIME PERIOD.

Doug himself wouldn't get the same result from his standard costume in 2011 as he did in the 1970s.

He was going for a happy hipster look. The equivalent of the happy hipster look in 2011 is something different. What is it? Not sure!

I wear short sleeve shirts, and no jacket in the Summer time (sometimes a vest), and long sleeve shirts with a jacket for the rest of the year. It gets both hot, and cold in Pennsylvania.

I am using an adaptation of a classical Blackstone, Jr. look. I wear a tux and a goatee. But I also switch up the top throughout the show, in the opener using a red "pirate" style shirt. I like high-enbergy mixed with classical magic.

Always have my red suspenders, even with a tux.
All in black if it's a fancy gig or Hawiian shirt when busking.
