I'm not required to do anything as I'm not the one making claims that their brand of Woo Woo is real*
*Or anything different to just talking to people. (in which case become a social worker and stop with the mumbo jumbo.)

Shrubsole, I am an atheist and a complete sceptic. I believe nothing. I don't make any claims, and I don't encourage belief in my audience. Yet I do good readings.
It is not woo woo. At the very least it is a valid psychological technique that our audiences find meaningful and entertaining. You are not arguing a counterpoint; you are just missing the point.

Precisely. There is no argumentation, just a different sort of fundamentalism.

I wholeheartedly agree with John and Tony. Readings and religion are two entirely different topics. Corinda devoted an entire chapter of his 13 Steps to the art of giving readings, noting that he felt it was one of the strongest types of mentalism. I agree with him as well.

The power and principles of the Law of Mentalism are as old as humanity, having existed ever since man was created. In different ages of the world's progress, men have in some measure realized the existence of the Law, but heretofore man has been unable to grasp it with any degree of completeness. He has, however, from time to time, discovered a few of its mysteries, and, believing. that he had the whole truth, formed and organized one of the sciences or religious sects known as Mesmerism, Hypnotism, Personal Magnetism, Magnetic Healing, Mental Science, Christian Science, Spiritualism, Clairvoyance, Clairaudience, Telepathy, Mediumship, etc.

I forgave him.
I'm one of the scientist whom Randi defrauded with the help of very deceptive guy Steven Shaw ( I still believe he has a power ) Since that time I finished with the science and went to India where I learn great art of palmistry. Recently I did apply for the Randi challenge but was denied:( They say ; Face it you r MAGICIAN! |

I feel for you Mrkmarik.
Must have been a nightmare having your career put at stake just for Randi to please his big ego. It seems like the movie "Trading Places" with Murphy and Akroid... Only in your case it was real.
