Anyone here remember these portable attache style PAs. I forgot I had one still tucked away in the closet.

Blueshawk,
When I first started out doing schools and other shows I used one of these! Great little system, but when Perma Power became AmpliVox, due to a buy out, the quality diminished quite a bit. Mark markwade@kidshowvent.com |

I knew I'd hear from you on this one Mark. I remember a lot of people liked them back in the day, but you were the only one who's name I could remember that I knew used one.
Mine still works, found another one I could get for parts and I am tempted, don't know if I will though.

I use it in almost any venue I'm in up to about 600 audience. It can also run using batteries. |

You're probably right on this one, Ony. I loved the old Perma Power, and for a while (right after taking over the line from Perma Power) Amplivox cheapened it down. But I think I heard in later versions of the Aplivox that they started returning to redeveloping the product and it was much better. I bet you have one of the newer models, even though it is 8 years old. My Perma Power dates back to the 70's, with Amplivox taking over somewhere in the mid 80's ( I believe..).

When I purchased my Shure 55 microphone, I purchased an Amplivox PA system that is powered by 12 batteries.
It does not sound as good as the Freedom PA that Joe sold me, but it is half the size and very good for small sound amplification. This system comes with a speaker in the unit and an extension speaker with about 50 feet of wire that connects to the amplifier. I intended to use it in small rooms where the Freedom would be overpowering. |
