I really don't know, but maybe they (designers that is) feel that this type of look is far enough from everyday clothing to convey the idea of superheroes.

I'm sure the movie will be great fun to watch, but Lynda Carter will always be Wonder Woman to me. And, George Reeves will always be Superman.

Yes, it is a tv series, and from what I've read, it's gonna be another Catwoman.
As for the vinyl, it's not common at all. The last one that really did that was Batman Returns catwoman, though kinda with the other catwoman as well, what little costume she wore. But this costume looks terrible. Why are her boots blue?

I think they went for leggings instead of shorts in order to reduce the number of visible bruises that occur that would allow us to tell when its her in a scene or its the stunt woman.

It's fairly close. I don't like the plastic headband.
Wonder Woman was never my favorite. I liked the 90's version of Rogue from the X-Men, before the movie made her Junior High age.
