Such polls don't mean anything at all. The only polls that do mean at least a little something are ones that take place for and about an election. This Sheen poll is garbage. That is a fact. As I said in another thread Charlie has never been important and never will be.
The ones polled can't be that well educated either. |

RS1963, you gotta have a sense of humour.
And seriously, what is with you constantly throwing out "that is a fact?"

It IS a fact - ask people who can't stand Sarah Palin if Charlie Sheen or Daffy Duck would make a better President and of course they will say yes - and same for the incumbent. Any poll which suggests the man who is 'train wreck of the month' for the highest office in the land lacks credibility and is simply light entertainment - not clever enough to be a joke. But anyway, gdw has now derailed the thread by discovering that "you gotta have a sense of humour." It just goes to show that you should never underestimate anyone's ability to learn. |

"That is a fact." - Maybe that's RS1963's catch phrase?

I don't care if it was meant to be funny or not that too is a fact lol
What I said about polls is indeed true however. The words scientific is just added to poll that is often used is to make it sound more important when it isn't. |

Good scientists don't say "That is a fact," they say "The data supports..."
OK, seriously though. Let's think about this for a second. How do they do these polls? Someone is probably calling people at home. What kinds of people take the time to do phone surveys? How was the survey worded? If it went something like this: "Do you think Charlie Sheen would make a better President than Obama or Palin?" then how many people would just say "Ha ha, sure?" So those are a few issues with the independent portion. Other issues, the data from opposing parties. Of course they would answer negatively about the other party's guy, that's our political climate now, a knee-jerk idiotic reaction based on a label. Just sayin'

When you say something is "garbage," that is a conclusion, not a fact. The information that proves it is "garbage" might be factual, but the conclusion is not. |
