Attention, for those that have and/or perform the Vanishing Bird cage, and would prefer not to have the cage permanently connected to their pull. I would like to know if any of you would be interested in in a new hook that will allow you hook the cage up after securing the pull.
This is only a new hook design that is perfect for accomplishing this. So if you have an Owens', Abbott's, Riser, etc. Vanishing Bird Cage and would like to hook he cage on at any time you desire, I would like to know if there is any interest. |

Bill sent me some details about his hook and I would agree that it is a superb item.
Bill does his 'homework' as Café' members know, and if recommends something, it is because he has thoroughly studied the matter!

Thanks JNeal, looks like no one wants to put this feature into there Vanishing Cage effect, and make it possible to do the trick at any point in their show. No problem with me, I just got excited to come up with this unique clip.
I have been working on a none reel pull for several years, it is now getting close to fruition. This latest addition, will work perfectly with this setup. |

Really, would like to hear from those that purchased the Clip. Will it work for you and any advantages you found that changed your working of The Famous Vanishing Bird Cage.

Bill,
Just got home to find the clip waiting. Have not had much time to play with it. Looks good and should work fine. Might be a touch big that would make it harder to hide in the hand when hooking up. Will have to experiment further. It is the best looking and most secure clip I have seen since the one Horace Marshall used for his vanishing bouquet.

That is why I am so excited with this hook. The weight acts as a control mechanism for the line. The size and thickness will not bend the loop out of shape. The size is perfect for a man's hand to actually be able to control with the finger grip I suggested in the instructions. I believe the length is good also to conceal in he hand with some control.
Strange - I just received a second Email notice on for Richard's posting from August 28, for his post. Something happen to/on the Café? |

A method just hit me while brain storming a little while ago, how to vanish 2 cages without leaving the stage. This method can be used with any of the bird cages on the market.
Set the stage with a table upstage (that is near the rear of the stage. Have 2 Vanishing Cages setting on the table, or on a tray next to each other on the table. When you desire to perform the Vanishing Bird Cage, step back the table, turn, and pick up one of the cages. this is where my cage clip will come into use. Walk forward, perform your version of the Vanishing Bird cage. Now offer to do it a second time. Walk back to table, turn and pick up the second cage (?), your back is to the audience for these few seconds. Turn and walk forward, perform the 2nd or repeat vanish. Now you will need 2 vanishing bird cages or make a collapsible dummy cage that looks much like your cage. Which is usually beyond most people capabilities, it for me at least. Do to varying stage sizes, this will have to be adjusted to the performing area being used of course. This will allow the use of John Booth's idea, and no assistant required. |

Are you familiar with Alton Sharper's repeat Cage Vanish? He did the cage as we traditionally know it. then an assistant would bring a second cage (on a tray) out to him. An in a manner not unlike the bowl of water vanish, the second cage (which was permanently attached to the tray) was tilted back as the first (vanished) cage was 'unloaded" from it's hiding place and substituted for the one on the tray.
This requires expert timing and choreography of action to work... but it does accomplish the goal of a repeat vanish without having to leave the stage.

JNeal, you mean I got the reference wrong, my bad, I thought it was John Booth. I have to remember it was Alton Sharpe.
That was my thoughts, to eliminate assistant. Finding assistants is like trying to find good music, very difficult. |

Dell O'Dell did it in a sleeveless evening gown. I like the clip but I think it would be easier to recover the cage in an open top box table or behind a nightclub table. There was guy at the Forks Hotel, I think his name was Wisenberger, did at the table and recovered it below the table. I guess working with Blackstone I learned how it easy it is to recover the cage.
