Hi Everyone,
for a project I am working on, I'm looking for Dynamic Coin sets. Who knows a good supplier for this? It needs to be shipped to the Netherlands and the quality has to be right. I can't find it on Loftus or Aliexpress. I never bought anything in large quantities, so I don't know about any pitfalls. Who can help me out? kind regards, Emiel Lensen The Netherlands |

Emiel -- The wholesaler D. Robbins & Co. sells three different versions of the Dynamic Coins effect. Click HERE and type the word "dynamic" in the "Product Name Search" box to view. To obtain prices and submit an order, you will need to become a registered user on the Robbins website.
I believe that Robbins does do international orders, but requires a $300 minimum order. Hope this helps!! SETH

Robbins used to sell a really good one from germany. It came in a little box with the american flag printed on it. Best set EVER. The stack had the heads side of a quarter stamped on it, and it doesn't have a solid line on the bottom like other sets.
I have one of those that I use when I do strolling. Quality is superb. If someone ever finds them, don't buy them, just tell me where they are! LOL

I'm gonna check them out.
One more important thing I just thought of, it must be the size of euro coins (probably €0,50) |

Emiel, you might try Tango Magic in Argentina.
They make a lot of gaffed coins using euros, and will also sell wholesale. Their email is : shop@tangomagic.com. SETH

Marvin's Magic in the UK has some nice brass quarter Dynamic Coins sets, or at least they did. I purchased two sets about six years ago from (of all places) the chain store Restoration Hardware at Christmas time.. Not a regular of Marvin's Magic here, but the Dynamic Coins set is nice. I think I paid $20 for a set back then. Good Luck.
What if the Hokey Pokey really IS what it's all about?
My neighbor rang my doorbell at 2:30 a.m. this morning, can you believe that, 2:30 a.m.!? Lucky for him I was still up playing my drums. |

Out of curiosity, I bought the Empire Magic version of Dynamic Coins, which appears to be manufactured and/or distributed by Loftus. In two words . . . total crap.
The gimmicks do not even begin to resemble stacks of five coins. Putting any real quarter on top of the gimmick provides an instant giveaway, because the side of the real "sandwich" coin doesn't remotely resemble the all-silver colored gimmick. The brass covers are nicely spun, but one is tighter than the other (not good!), and the bang ring looks like something from a garage sale. On the other hand, what did I expect for $15 (retail)? Even though this is a very cute effect, I would NEVER pitch this mess, even if the wholesale and retail prices made it practical to do so. Maybe the Tenyo version looks better and more convincing, but I believe it's no longer in production. I have a 40-year old S.S. Adams "Nickels-To-Dimes" set that puts the Empire version to shame. Too bad I don't have two of them!! SETH
