Dove pan?
The only bird illusion I do is "Sunny the Magic Bird" who appars from a dove pan and brings candy for the kids (double load).

I would do a sequence with the parrot doing tricks..pushing cart etc. It might give you a nice change of pace.

Oh yah, hug is right.
If you have the time and patience to train your bird, people *love* that stuff. Just be ready to b badly upstaged by the bird

Just don't do ripping the dove's head off.
I saw a magician do that once. Mechanics are easy (tuck head under wing, palm fake head) but NOONe wants to see it. OTOH I saw a really cute "sawing a dove in half" illusion once

One of the easiest to do is an old idea of Ken Klosterman that was in the Dove Encyclopedia. Use the old metal circle to square. Put a dove on top and one below inside. As you rotate the framework, the doves will stay on the perch. Then change to the circle to a square and continue to turn.

Dynamike ,
Dove transfer - maybe that's a good idea. What illusions can we use for this trick? Cyberqat - sawing a dove in half" illusion. Do you know where they sell this illusion? hugmagic - Thanks a lot for your idea. I can put this into my act too.

For sawing a dove in half try Dan Wolfe's "Dovided"... You can check it out at http://www.smmagic.com, there is an okay video performance, and I'm sure the product is top-notch.

When preparing a 30 minutes act, I think that the first thing to be considered is how much time doves can stay in the pockets. If I were You I would produce doves and parakeets in the first 5 minutes, and then I would do some magic tricks with them. I think one of the most beautiful trick is the dove levitation (see Silvan's dove levitation, Tannen Magic or Dove Suspension on spikes). Maybe You can close Your act with the duck bucket(if You have a duck it's better, but also a bunny should be fine. I saw also zig-zag dove (dividing a dove in three). Hope this can help You.

I just got The Sword of Creation. I love it. A sword is placed in a square with an open center. The doors are closed. When they are opened four doves are siting on the sword.

I don't know what kind of "birds" do You own and if You have the possibility to care about "strange" birds. For example for the finale I think that it could be amazing to produce an animal like a big colorful parrot,a swan or a duck. Lance Burton does an act with a chicken (his version of Slydini's Paper Balls Over Head). If You own a vanishing cage that turns the cage into something else, maybe You can vanish the cage and transform into a big bird.

Magicelam - Wow. This looks great. My hands are getting birdy to get this illusion.
mattia - Do you know where they sell the zig-zag dove illusion? Yes, I own a vanishing cage illusion. I am thinking of putting my cockatoo or BG macaw as in the finale too. Still crafting my act. ARNOMAGIE - Why didn't I think of that? silk to egg..Thanks buddy.
