I am having trouble on where to put my props. In the past, I will put them in my drawers and cupboards. But my cousins and sibings will go and open and looked at the props and played around with them. Not only some of secrets are exposed, they also caused some props to spoil.

A plastic storage bin from the local cheapie store will work well, too...the put it where they can't reach.

If you're looking for something inexpensive, get a footlocker or trunk, that will accept a lock. http://www.kmart.com/shc/s/p_10151_10104......&prop17=

I am looking into a couple of trunks (if I can find them at a second-hand store...then make them part of my stage decor.

I too had that problem when by brother and sisters were younger.
You just need to buy some locks… you will spend a few dollars and you will make sure that nobody is going to damage your props. Just make sure you remember the combination of the locks (don't use keys as suggest by Charlie… you can lost keys, but you won't lost your memory). Regards! Federico |

I bought a case at Home Depot that works nicely. It was a tool box that costs about $20. Good luck.

Hobby Lobby does have some nice looking trunks. I know some pretty well respected interior decorators who confided they pick up bits and pieces from the furniture section at Hobby Lobby. That's where you'll find the trunks and other lock boxes. Most look good enough you could use them as stage props.
