Hi Doowopper,
I'd like to get to know you. Are you going to be in Vegas for WMS? The "company" that makes the Micro chops is one talented guy...my partner Jim Riser. Everything he produces is of the highest quality and I think you'll enjoy a visit to his web site. http://www.jamesriser.com I think that Jiggernaut is excellent. And I agree with Bigchuck...to appreciate it, it's best to see Mark Jenest do it on his Miracles While You Wait video (or in person). If I did more close-up in situations where I had a table I'd not hesitate to use Jiggernaut. Especially in a bar or a restaurant that has a bar on the premises. I have it and have been working on it. I love it. As many have stated you really should see Mark perform it. He created it, so naturally he performs it the best. I basically stick to the presentation/patter he provides. He's gone through everything to make it an all around enjoyable routine. Just my thoughts.

In December of '06 I was diagnosed with a very rare cancer, Dermatofibrosarcoma Protuberans. One in a million people worldwide are diagnosed with this type of cancer annually. Sarcomas account for 1% of all cancers. Knowledge is power!

I removed my original remarks; I really liked the routine and thought it was a clever and ORIGINAL presentation.
I originally had some "issues" with the appropriateness of the underlying alcohol-related theme, but the more I thought of it, the more I felt that I was probably being too sensitive and was over-reacting. I tried to delete this post entirely but that option was not available; hence this edited post by way of explanation. Mike

I saw Oz Pearlman do a jiggernaut routine on Penguin Magic and thought it looked terrible. Bad loading in particular. I'm sure others can handle it much better.
I also have the Dennis Loomis Micro Chop Cup set. Small props, big loads and BIG magic. Very well made and a good routine. I use the shot cup (it's a chop cup, I know, but my specs think it's a spirit measure or shot cup) and that gives you a presentation (with some of your own work). It's a great gem. Damien. P.S. Dennis' service is aCe ![]() ![]() |

This is a novel approach to the chop cup. The best thing about it is the presentational angles possible. Unless I wanted to produce a small bottle of whisky or a mini lime or something like that I would prefer to use a good old chop cup.

I found a beautiful replica antique candle snuffer that would be a very classy way to do a similar routine... nicely engraved, etc. It was at a "Museum Store" in a mall.

Hi Dennis,
Just picked up on your post to me today. No, I am not going to Vegas for WMS. Perhaps we will meet some other time. I would enjoy it. Thanks for inquiring. Love the Micro Chop Cup and the routine. I stand while doing it, magic in the hands...why am I telling all of this to you? ![]() |

I recently purchased Jiggernaut and I like it. I haven't had a chance to perform at work yet (I work as an event bartender), but I'm looking forward to the opportunity. After I get it down pat, of course.
![]() I think it's great because the props are logical. They don't look like special magic props, which makes it perfectly suited for close up, in my opinion. If you bring out the usual type of cup, people immediately associate that with magic. That's not necessarily bad, but I feel it takes away some of the impact of the routine. They're expecting it, so it doesn't hit as hard. With Jiggernaut, however, you can have the jigger out on the counter, then go into the routine at an appropriate moment. And because you're using normal-appearing props, it looks all the more magical. All that said, I like the mini bottle idea, too, and wish I had thought of it while I was at the liquor store yesterday. They had a selection of different liquors and liqueurs. And it would make perfect sense as a final load. |

Blast it! Now I'm going to have to drop this little gem because all of you guys are doing it! Just kidding.
This is a routine that sat on my shelf for a couple of years. I pulled it out and worked it up for the Motivation Show in Chicago a few months ago and I will NOT part with it again. It plays VERY well, is logical and the appearance of the corks at the end really gives it a logical, and smashing, finale. The first one shows up and people are surprised. When the second one shows up, they often scream! This is a neo-classic, in my opinion. Happy Holidays! Lee Darrow, C.Ht. http://www.leedarrow.com
