I came across some chocolate coins at the grocery store. They were modeled after Kennedy halves, but the size of a thick silver dollar, and wrapped in gold foil. Being a father and a coin guy, I had to buy them. After filling a bag, I bent to read the number on the bin. After reading the brand name, I knew I had made a wise choice.

I'm aware of Chanukah gelt. Superfluous is a Jewish name. These coins do not have menorahs on them.
I'm not sure how legible my photo is. But, the bin was labeled "PALMER GOLD COINS".

Sometimes around the holidays, you can also find brightly colored plastic coins in the Easter section. They were good for me at the very start, when having one roll away to some uncertain fate was less expensive.

Man, I wish I owned that company!
Maybe they got the term "palming coins" confused.

Palmer Chocolates are among the "bargain line" made with very cheap stuff.
This I assume is due to a curse put on them by Tony Andruzzi for stealing his name. Masklyn lives on... Walt |

Nah. If Tony had wanted to keep his name, he wouldn't have bothered cursing the chocolates.

Costco had a big net bag of chocolate coins in gold foil of various sizes and "denominations" for sale in December last year. Great stuff with a Sacagawea or gold presidential dollar coin and a holdout or pull for the switch.
Now appearing nightly in my basement.

Also hard to avoid young tongues getting cut on the foil...

I use Bizarro's Foiled Again at the end of my coin routine, though I did not consider the potentially negative spectator impact when they find that the chocolate jumbo coin has returned to it's non chocolate state. Perhaps if I ring in some real chocolate coins to give away, this could win them back and give them a nice sugar buzz to enhance their continued enjoyment.
