I received this dvd Yesterday, and I think it was OK. I mena the content of the dvd was good, but the tricks I thought were a little weak.
The last four tricks on the dvd are probably the best, but the rest is ok. Overall Mark= 6.5/10 |

Here you go Mark: (from MagicProShop)
Effects • I.C.U.- A knockout face up ambitious routine. • Glock 52- 2 chosen cards shoot out of a deck shaped like a gun, a very deadly comical effect. • Slap City-The four of clubs is split into the two’s, then split into the aces with and outstanding kick ending that will floor your audience. • Trifecta- This one’s too hot to tip. It’s been circling underground and is now surfacing for the first time. • Short Stack- From the brainchild of Syd Segal comes a card effect that goes “Further Than That.” • Ace Flourish- An eye-popping revelation of the 4 aces. • Coining Copperfield- A first in coin magic. A coin passes through a spectator’s fingers. • My Biggest Fan- A freely chosen card instantaneously appears between the magician’s finger tips. Cuts • Blossom cut- an easy, visual cut. • Another Sybil- Chris Kenner meets Brian Tudor, in this stylish cut. Bonus Effects • Shed A Tear: Rodney’s Torn and Restored card for the first time on DVD. A chosen card is torn into 4 pieces. In a wave of the hands the card is fully restored. Impromptu version included. Extra Features • “Like Magic”- Documentary: the making of the song, “Like Magic”, Starring Hip-Hop sensation Shawn Russell, outtakes, trailers and more. Hope this helps! Evan |

The Syd Segal effect is alone worth the price of the DVD. This effect was originally published by Syd in a small lecture note, and then again in Channel One Magazine. This is one of my favorite effects from Syd.

MY REVIEW of "School of Hardknocks"
Well let me start by saying that everyone around Rodney is very good. Good graphics, good production, good music, but he is VERY bad. Now don?t get me wrong I mean this in the sense that he is putting himself out there as a professional. He is not. He is a below average amateur magician. To tell you the truth I was amazed by Rodney. I was amazed how he could possibly still think he is good when the crowd gives NO reaction. Seriously?they could care less what the heck is going on. I wish I could post up a clip of what I?m talking about. If you get a chance to see it, you?ll see. The thing is he doesn?t just lack in performance. He is also a very poor teacher. I personally could not understand what the heck he was talking about half the time. He has a sort of ?stoned? speak to him. Sometimes he just stops talking in the middle of a sentence. What am I saying, he does it all the time. Next is the material, which isn?t all bad. He does have some good concepts but I don?t believe they are worthy of being on a DVD and in magic shops at all. The only thing I think makes the DVD worth it at all are his cuts. They are very smooth and easy to do. I think he does them very well too. This is why you see so many cuts on the preview?because all of the footage of him really performing is very bad. The spectators don?t enjoy themselves at all. So like I said EVERYTHING else is great. The DVD, The cover, the production, the music, the editing, his website. It is sad to see so much talent go to waste on this project. I now know why he was ?underground? -Eric James |

I hope that is the case. Otherwise, I would believe he is illiterate.
