Among knowledgeable scientists that study this, you will find that a good percentage are of the belief that we may be heading toward global cooling instead of global warming.
Wont matter much if we all live in poverty because our goverment runs us into insurmountable debt. |

There is always an external force or forces behind that change. Alteration of the earths orbit or its axial tilt. Changes in solar activity or ocean currents. So far as has been determined none of these events has transpired to change the current climate. Another cause that has been proven to lead to climate change is alteration of the atmosphere. This we can prove has happened. There is a greater increase in C02 levels in the past century. This increase in CO2 directly corresponds to the rise of the earth temperature. We have yet to establish a natural event that could have release such massive amounts of CO2 into the atmosphere but have isolated many man made causes. So please, if you can point to another mechanism that can explain the recent, and rather rapid change to our climate let us know. to simply say "climate changes" is simply lazy reasoning and intellectually dishonest.

And people think that only the Global Warming crowd are hyperbolic doomsayers. We hear this same old tired worn out canard from industry every time an environmental issue gets brought to the fore front. The regulations are too expensive or we'll go out of business if we just can't spew smoke into the air or dump industrial waste into the rivers arguments just doesn't hold up. When the EPA was formed all we heard was doom and gloom and projections of a nation destroyed and everyone living in poverty all caused by over regulation. Seems to me that none of this happened either.

I think that each side employs the tactic to very bad ends. I mean it is like the race card Chance is so fond of lately. It gets tired and worn out and can not be as effective.
The problem is the truth isn't sexy.

Interesting that none of the minority members here have a problem with my statements.
Your comfort level does not concern me. Uncomfortable facts are uncomfortable usually for a very good reason. Stop shooting at the messenger long enough to try to honestly judge whether my opnions are based on fact or fancy. And then take them with a grain of salt in any case, because my opinions are worth precisely as much as yours are: nothing. |

One size fits all give me the solution now! Good point. This is why the stuff is packaged easy for people to understand on each side. It is easier to demagague the other side, make them demons and look stupid and such than it is to deal with people in the arena of ideas. Pretty sad really. People would rather pin their hopes of being elected to the highest office in the land on a birth certificate, as opposed to actual policy. Not so much what the other guy does wrong, but why yours is better!

He wants to be white. He doesn't want to be black. He has no ethnic pride," or about Jesse Jackson calling New York "Hymietown." When it comes to politics, people on both sides seem to pretty much only care about racism if it can be used to demonized someone from the other side. As someone else pointed out, most of the people who don't like Obama and/or his policies, similarly, didn't like Clinton or Carter. And they wouldn't have liked Hillary Clinton had she won the 2008 election. But because Obama is African-American, you can always play the, "Well, it's because they're racists card." And sure, SOME people who don't like him are racist, but so are some people who are for him. There are people who voted for Obama BECAUSE he's black, and there are people who voted for McCain BECAUSE Obama's black. Most people on both sides, though, have better reasons for their actions and beliefs.

Getting back to the topic of the U.N. and its climate agenda, Kenneth Anderson posted some interesting...... Volokh:
Quote:
Seen from the standpoint of climate change and its scientists and environmental activists alone, this story looks to be about hyperbolic claims about the immediate effects of climate change. Seen from the standpoint of the longer history of the UN, it is much more about the long-running movements by the UN to find issues that tend to do two things. One is to increase the institutional UN’s governance responsibilities, authority, legitimacy, and power. The other is to increase the amount of money that runs through UN mechanisms from rich countries to poor countries, with an administrative cut to the UN itself. Thought you'd like to know. Woland |

Well, critter, not only do I know what a Melungeon is, I have known a few, and I know who Jackson's Whites are, and a few other similar communities . . . .

Now you know another one
I also have some Irish and Norwegian, but I've got almost as much Melungeon blood as Obama does black. Straight outta Virginia. Most folks ain't heard of Melungeons, that makes us the minoritiest. I don't hold it against anybody not hearing of us. Because race is a trivial thing. We're being homogenized every day. I'm an American. And so are the rest of the people who are living under Obama's Presidency. So unless you're a degenerate then where does race even factor into this equation? I heard some of those degenerates say some nasty racist things in chat-rooms before the election, but I sure haven't heard anybody on here do it. So maybe those who cry race are self-hating white folks?

I must have stumbled into the wrong thread. I thought this was about a Global Warming and one of the doomsday precictions that did not come to pass. I did not realize this was a racial thread. I will have to read the Topic again to make sure.
If I were to agree with you. Then we would both be wrong. As of Apr 5, 2015 10:26 pm I have 880 posts. Used to have over 1,000
