I must agree with Starrpower here, most of the magicians at the little darlings forum believe it is the prop that makes a good magician, but I believe that it is the talent of the magician that makes the magic happen, and makes the props shine. In short fantasy magician is a much better prop in the hands of a TALENTED magician. TALENT is a taboo word that is never used at this forum.

The reason I originally interjected is that if we just regurgitate opinions such as "it's not the prop, it's the performer" verbatim then we don't really consider what they mean. I believe a successful(sp) performance lies mainly in the skill of a performer BUT there are tricks out there that will elicit a big response from an adequate performance so if we start believing that the reaction is due entirely to the performance, firstly, people who get children shouting using RRR will think they are God's gift. They aren't, I could teach a laymen how to wind up children using a sucker trick in 5 minutes. And secondly we aren't giving credit where it is due. Where it is actually due in this case is somewhat confusing but if someone comes up with a great idea that you as a performer are able to build on, adapt to your style and use then I think the originator deserves a nod. Ken,
I said I did a "small" research on the effect and no I don't own Kevin james version I only know of it and know it was on VHS. thanks for clearing that up and answering the question. the one I do have was custom made for me as I don't like the tux look and was made from real clothing not a costume type. better quality if you ask me. any way back on topic now- thanks again Ken sam
