I realize that Marc has only just released this, but am curious if anyone is privy to hands-on experience?
Here's the description from his email & site: It starts by actively involving EVERYONE in the room and gives them a “mental gift” that they will talk about after the show. Nine people are then selected and brought up on stage. These nine people plus the pad and marker pen are your props. You can see why this plays so big. Other people in the audience are still involved in making decisions that create some truly random results (no equivoque and no forces...genuinely free choices). These results have been predicted by you in advance and create a solid climax to the routine. The stage volunteers are dismissed leaving the stage clear. You now dramatically link the results back to the very beginning of the effect (the mental gift)and create a second “double whammy” climax. Trust me this will get gasps, it’s that strong! |

Received an email from Paul about the effect.
The routine just uses a market pen and a large pad (pack flat & play big) It is a 10 minutes piece more oriented for Stage, from 20 to 1,000. You can download the routine from Marc Paul´s web site for 12 Pounds, not sound bad. I would like to read a review about it. |

REVIEW:
Marc Pauls The Human Equation What can I say about this, ever since I bought Marcs Fleetwood Notes, I have used his Summing Up effect as a closer, or opener at times, and it has been the most talked about effect that I do! Now comes the Human Equation which is similar to Summing Up but uses a pad, a marker, and people. I cant say too much, but this is well worth the $20.03 I spent on this. This is a worker, and I will use this, just as I had used Summing Up! For those of you that don't know what Summing Up is, you need to get Fleetwood Notes to understand. But the Human Equation is a spin off of a JAck London effect, which appeared in Fleetwood Notes, under Summing Up. Just wonderful!! For me Fleetwood Notes was the best ebook I purchased......based on Summing Up, and this Human Equation is probably going to replace the Summing Up, but now I have 2 effects, that I can interchange anytime. Get this, you wont regret it! Alex

Just got Marc's Human Equation and it reads absolutely brilliantly and money well spent.
Just think about this, how many routines can you do that makes use of the entire audience to freely choose nine of them, these nine people are then invited up to the cabaret floor or stage, and without any pre-show or the use of props accept an ungimmicked drawing pad and marker pen, you then go on to prove that you are an expert in human behaviour? I'm so looking forward to put this into one of my shows. Franklin |

What wrote on the pad are English letters or numbers?
Because I live in Taiwan where is not a English speaking country, if this routine is made to match a English word so it's not for me, but if it's made to match a numbers at the end, than I'll take a look at this. Thanks for looking and answering. YuYen

Marc demonstrated this for me and some others a few months ago - an awesome example of re-working something that before was 2D and turning into a massive 3D interactive piece - This is literally thinking outside the box. Also the conversion has totally hidden the method.

I certainly think that this is a really great effect and a great example of thinking big. The only issue that I have with this excellent idea is that the advertising, to me, was just a bit misleading. Do NOT get me wrong, I'm not trying to start controversy over this, but what really drew me in to this was this quote from Paul Brook:
"One of the best pieces of impromptu stage mind reading I have ever seen!" - Paul Brook I understand why the description of the effect needs to be so vague, but I thought I was purchasing a mind reading effect and not a prediction/coincidence effect. Again, I'm not bashing "The Human Equation" in any way, because I think that it is an absolutely brilliant piece of Mentalism. I just thought I was getting one style of routine, but got another (albeit very good!). -rob |

Still I've to say in a word: brilliant. But no surprise after "Fleetwood Notes"... One of these ideas you scratch your head and asking yourself why didn't I get it. O. k., next time I come in first Jan

Unfortunately I can't sell it anymore.
my effect is too close from Communist attack from Mars by Paul Marc. Shame, I was so happy to have at least find something "new" where I use SR (sextuple reality) and BFS ( before pre show)

I liked the Fleetwood notes, I love the Human Equation.
Marc's understanding of what works for large corporate events is second to none. I know of no other routine which justifies having 9 audience members on stage. This routine not only does that, but they actaually all have a role to play as opposed to just being there to fill the stage. Well done Marc.
