Fantastic episode today guys. I'd probably give about 30% for legacy. I really didn't like it. There are sooo much better m******e o*t tricks and I agree with you when you say it's a backward step. I'd probably give it 30%.

In all honesty I would have to say that the review of Legacy was deplorable and totally unfair to Jamie Badman and Colin Miller. Come on guy’s…….really??? You have some kid walk out and perform an effect that depends quite heavily on a proper presentation. Instead, you have this child simply say; “Well, first you give some patter….”!!! Yes, it does indeed involve only 5 cards but the entire essence, as it were, of Leagcy was simply, and most undeservedly cast aside. Would David perform Convexed by merely grabbing a coin and bending it? Likewise, would Craig simply perform one of his many coin tricks be merely grabbing a coin and then make it disappear? I think not, and I’m sure you get my point.
If you are going to review a trick then please do so properly, or don’t bother reviewing it at all. Obviously most, if not all magic tricks are subjective to each individual’s likes and dislikes. As for Legacy it’s quite evident that I’m somewhat biased here as I own it and I happen to love it. So, with that said I’ll give it 89%.

I agree with Gaffed - Craig and Dave should be ashamed of themselves. This is a good effect and does kills with a decent presentation. The way they did this review was disgusting and they should apologise. I would give this 92% and it is a worker for me.

I thought the kid coming out was fun. I agree, not a great demo, but it was fun to watch.
But even with a polished presentation, it's still just a one out of five. I'd just go with 'Knock Em Dead' by Peter Nardi, for this kind of effect. The cards were nicely made, but the wallet was a bit funky IMHO. The black strap really stands out against the brown wallet. Too bad the wallet wasn't black to maybe hide the straps a bit more. I'll give it a 65% |

As for the wallet I don’t really consider it as a “wallet”, but something that was simply meant to hold the 5 cards and the photo. Other than that, in reference to your other comment about the wallet I think some exposure is being given. Yes, you and I know what type of wallet it is whereas I seriously doubt that a spectator would, nor would they even pay any attention to it whatsoever, much less give it a second thought. Admittedly, I've only had a chance to perform it twice so far and the wallet, in my opinion, never really comes that much into play and no one gave it a second glance.

I think the photos and cards are very nice. But, I sold mine because the straps. I liked the wallet but the straps were very loose. Maybe I got a bad wallet.
If not for that, I think I would have kept it and possibly used it. I think the 2H revelation is the weakest of all the o**s. 70% Robert |

I thought Legacy stunk and give it 5 percent. I say that humbly in that I don't own it and am only reporting base on what I are many deck routines where just one card in the whole deck changed color vs. Just five cards. Matthew means well but he doesn't know what else is available...what I was looking forward to was the "chosen" card appearing to be held in the picture by one of the old men! Ellusionist pits out a great worn down Old West looking deck that would have been a nice touch to the cards had they been manufactured that way, especially with a story about a generations handled down deck. Just my two cents.

I don't understand the need for the photo at all in Legacy - is it supposed to be revealed at the end that he's holding the same card or something? If so it seems as though he didn't even show the full trick...he just showed a photo and put it away. If you're going to demo something, demo the whole thing rather than stopping halfway through.

Overall, love the show every week.
On this episode what puzzled me most is, Craig kept saying it's ONLY 5 cards to choose from. Well there are GREAT magic classics using 5 or even less cards. Princess Card Trick B'Wave? Color Monte? 3 Card Monte? 2 Card Monte? Plus, MANYYYYYY incredible gaffed packet tricks using only a few cards. As ALWAYS, in magic the presentation and patter can turn anything into gold or even a worker! |

I like the principle and it's something I'll probably pick up. I liked Heirloom but this one seems like a fun little piece to do at parties or for small groups, where I don't need to Heirloom wallet with me.

If you wish to see a more respectful and fair review of Legacy you can go HERE and see it reviewed by Luke Dancy & Josh Norris of “the magic session” in Magic Marketplace. Even in his handling it’s done in somewhat of a lighthearted manner, but at least it’s performed with some deservedly due respect. In retrospect, if I had seen Legacy performed the way it was on the WPR in a brick and mortar store there is no way on earth I would ever have purchased it. Perhaps something to think upon Craig and David?

Wow that was a ridiculous review of Legacy - one of the best effects I've bought in the last ten years. The only reason I can possibly think that these guys reviewed it so badly was their inexperience of performing this *kind* of routine and as such can't really do a good mentalism routine justice. If they expanded their repertoire a little and actually performed this routine properly they'd experience results that would far exceed reactions to their usual coin and packet-tricks.
I hope no sales are lost because of this inexplicable 'blip'. I think most consumers will look beyond one inexperienced review and check out all the outstandingly positive response this great routine is receiving. Shame on you both, Craig+David (BO SELECTA!!!) John |

Although I very much appreciate the WPRs, I agree in this case with the prevailing sentiment with respect to how the review was handled. The effect requires effective presentation, and no sleight to the talented young performer, but he wasn't given a chance to do a performance that did the effect justice. For a better presentation, go to Vanishing Inc. and see Joshua Jay perform it. The props are well made (though the wallet leaves a little something to be desired but is fine for the price point). That being said, the focus of the spectator should be on the presentation, and not on the wallet, nor on the props, which merely support the performance. I've had this for a week, and every time I've received an excellent reaction, and the "But what if I picked....?". I give the effect an 85%.

I think the problem is... and why they did what they did...
How is this better or even equal to an invisible deck? Or Brain Wave? They name a card and it's upside down in a deck, and could be a different color back. I kind agree with them. Not that it's a bad trick, it's a simple MO trick. It's that it doesn't achieve anything more than any other trick does. I give it 60%. It's a MO trick... but not better than a simple invisible deck.
