Especially when that eye floats suspended in liquid in a small jar."

I hope this doesn't sound too nitpicky because your work is very good. Do you think crosshead screws are consistent with the age of the box? When were they invented late 30's?

I think 1930's is a good age for the box. Hell...it's ONE thing that's older than me. Smile

I thought the same thing about the screws.
To be honest I ended up using them because of laziness more than anything.
However, the age of the box doesn't need to be the same age as the head.
Not to mention the possibility that the box may have been repaired (Had the screws updated).
Who knows what sort of life this box has seen.
It may have more stories to tell than even the contents belie...

I do agree with you though beverage, I also think its perhaps a tad inconsistent.
But like Mr. Higly said the 1930's is a good age. But this question has never come up before now.

Whats the point of showing something to the bizarre community if you don't learn anything from it?
I come with all humility and the desire to improve! All points of view are welcomed with open arms!
Godzilla, I would love to help, but I live in East Texas, and just got back from my honeymoon.
So, I doubt I'll be traveling again so soon.

My question is: Why does it need to be old at all? Sure, if you are trying to pass something off as..say..Victorian..It should be able to pass scrutiny but if you make no such claims you can easily say 'I made this'.. etc.
I think the connotation that something has to be old, dirty, and/or smelly is a bit narrow.
When I find odds and ends at flea malls and swap meets..the first thing I do is clean it up and repair it..whouldn't the same hold true of any 'unique' object one has?
Just my two cents worth...feel free to disagree.

Thanks, Glad to make your acquaintance Marlowe

Thankfully it didn't rain.
It was a bright, sunny, and humid southern day.
But my wife wouldn't allow our wedding to occur on Halloween.
And as for the moon, it was only 10% visible...
