Outdoors and theI have to give the conditions.
It is a promotion tour in Spain, andI have to perform in diferent Citys. I can give my performing conditions. That meeans if I Audience is staing in front of me. I guess the best place would be on a parking place. And, NO DYNAMITE is not an option (lol) Thank you |

Hey Tony... I created a vanishing School Bus for the Rose Parade years ago but it was built and engineered specifically for the parade. The entire project was in the $350,000 range so it was not a small effect. The ultimate question might be, if you're planning something this extravagant and over your head, you might be better served bringing in someone like David Mendoza, Jim Steinmeyer or someone that really knows what they're doing from a creative and design perspective. Not that you might not get a lot of ideas on here, but you're dealing with something in a different league. That's the reason these things are spectacular is that not too many people can pull them off. Good luck!

First. Do you have a realistic budget to do this? Havr you done something of this size before?
Does it have to be done outdoors - really? If they found an indoor venue that would work could it be done there? If they are doing it in a parking lot to save money (rather than renting the venue), well I think you can see where this is going. If they are doing it in a parking lot because of its specific tie in to the promotion (and say can use a tent, scenary and decor) than that is another story. Does it have to disappear? Appearances are more cost effective, and far more "unexpected and magical" as far as an audience is concerned. What is your time frame to do all this? Do you have enough realistic time to R&D and produce this? And finally, and most importantly, what is the selling point to your client to make this happen? Why do they want to do this particular illusion? What is their desired benefits from all this and their Return on Investment? I know it is a promotional tour, but really what is the actual benefit your client is looking to get from pulling this off? The reason I ask is that the impact they are looking for may be possible (if not better suited) with just as a spectacular (but slightly different) illusion, but one that is modified based on budget, timing and practical restraints. For example is it more effective to make a full sized bus disappear in a You Tube type of set up illusion - than to make a slightly smaller model of the bus appear out of thin air (in a flash and floating), completely surrounded by your audience and media, in real time? If you have presold them on this specific effect that is one thing. If you are in the starting stage, well there might be better options open to you. These are important questions to ask in your inital stage. MM |

I have done things on this size before, and have even a method to do this, was just looking for other opinions on how to do it. I have a 20 X 18 meter stage and a courtain. Real audience outdoor bud sitting in the front (teatre). The stage is closed on the sides and back. The selling point is the presentation of the new BUS model 2012. The time quote is about 60 days. The idea is to have a 10 minutoes performance and finishing with thenew Bus on stage. Thank you Tony |

If you are working with the manufacturer, you could have them give you a shell for the vanish.
You also have a noise factor to deal with.

This stage is it raised off the ground say 2 to 3 feet, or it more set on the ground to provide a smooth stage surface area Also is this is more of a tourist bus (lighter in construction an weight) and not a school bus or big cruiser? Finally - day or evening?

He has... Unfortunatley, you probably don't want to use video or camera tricks to acccomplish the effect.
