Do you think, Mr Fufkin, that the world needs MORE people like you, or LESS people like you?
MORE people like you? or LESS people like you? MORE aggressive patriotism, or LESS aggressive patriotism? MORE violent retribution, or LESS violent retribution? MORE, or LESS, Mr Fufkin? |

Or LESS panty-waisted weaklings who go running off crying when the big bad bullies won’t play fair?
Or MORE justifiably righteous indignation handing the bully his butt on a platter once and for all, for the peace and safety of ALL the kiddies on the playground? Do you honestly think these guys are going to just go away if everyone sits around doing nothing? In response to what you SHOULD have said, You’re Welcome!

Here's an idea.
Some of the mentalists (you know who you are) in this forum head off to France, where you can give each other hot oil massages while taking in the French countryside, picking daisy's, and eating croissants ........perhaps later, a snuggly candle-lit hot-tub together. Meanwhile, the SEALS and those that support their mission will maintain the "sack-up" attitude that allows the freedom such that the massage-mentalists are permitted to post their pointless little missives about aggression and retribution here on a public web forum. |

Why not give it a try instead of waddling your fat, ethnocentric cowboy asses into the middle-east, stuffing your stupid freedom fries down the throat of innocents while you sell weapons to their neighbours. Nah, you're right. Go in there and kick butt! It's what Jesus would do! |

First, so I am not tagged with some silly label: I am a disabled vet (card carrying member of the DAV), and former intelligence analyst. I’ve done my service, participated in operations, kept my secrets, and sacrificed. I also understand the how’s and why’s of these types of operations.
I’m not debating the actions of the US, assassination rather than capture, or the tarnishing of our image to our own people who would never believe that we participate in such activities. That is the call of our elected officials, just like the taking of credit for the actions of our service men, while they sit around in safety, watching it unfold on a video screen. I’ve come to expect that from these political opportunists. But I find it disheartening when the “civilized’ people stand and cheer, gloat, celebrate, and revel in the death of anyone. So much for the “civil” in “civilized”. Just my thoughts. Tony Iacoviello |

The basic tool for the manipulation of reality is the manipulation of words. If you can control the meaning of words, you can control the people who must use the words.

The two words that make up the term - mankind - infuse me with irony...
imagine you have someone down the street you don't like the next door neighbour of that guy you can speak to so you do, and he says "yeah, he annoys me too..." you suggest that you work together to make him move out they accept, and you agree that the next door neighbour makes a lot of noise and is aggressive towards the guy you give him training in how to do that and do a good job the guy you don't like moves out two months later - and you are both happy all is well and you move on couple of years later, your next door neighbour moves on, and the next door neighbour you trained moves in you think it'll be fine but then, well...things don't work out, and they start being aggressive and being loud, and they have the audacity to listen to you when you ask them to stop... before you know it, he's partying all night, and posting fireworks through your letterbox you can't prove it, you've trained him too well... they want you to move out...

Seem to recall it being the Union forces defeating the Confederate forces that eventually gave way to MLK having the freedom to say what he wanted to say, in this case that nice and peaceful (but totally fairy-tale) quote above. If MLK wasn't inclined to celebrate the source of his freedom of speech, no problem......there are plenty of Americans out there who are. |

Ummm, the quote is not his.
Someone else made it up and attributed it to MLK. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/05/03......044.html |

Whether the quote is MLK's or not is somewhat irrelevant to the general concept that freedom of speech is something that citizens the world over generally have had to fight for.
It's something that's rarely, if ever "given" (see Burma or China for a medium-extreme example)---(see the entire Middle East for an Extreme example). Funnily enough, there are currently dozens to hundreds of people dying every day around the world just to be able to say what they want to say, and do what they want to do ("being murdered" would likely be a more accurate statement, but lets not get hung up on semantics). The point may in fact be that MLK could have spoken the quote above, and it would have been totally within his rights as an American citizen to do so.........rights bought and paid for with the blood and guts of American soldiers. It may be news to some posting here that "freedom of speech" isn't a by-product of the existence of online magic forums and the fact that you've got a computer, and can type. Freedom of speech comes from being fought for, and then defended to the death. |

Certainly you might have to defend your rights, sometimes by fighting and killing.
The issue is in rejoicing the death of the enemy.

No, that's apparently the issue for you, but it's a non-issue for me, and obviously all of those who were celebrating. Because it's an issue for you means nothing more than you have chosen to make it an issue. |

These discussions are rarely productive, and I regret having entered in at all, but I tire of the bash America religion practiced by those who owe us so much. I celebrate, I wave my flag, and I rejoice that another spot of evil has been excised from the world by US! Osama made a choice to embrace the Evil, and when the Evil was destroyed, it took him with it. His choice. Simple.
As for What Would Jesus Do? You should read John 2:15. BTW, “scourge” means “whip”.

A brief analysis:
The people who were out celebrating Bin Ladens death weren't offering up a critique of those who were inclined to stay in and ignore Bin Ladens death. In this thread however, we find that those who weren't out celebrating Bin Ladens death wasting no time in telling those who were how they should have behaved. See that there........one bunch lets the other bunch live and let live. The other bunch decides to tell the first bunch what they should have done, and further critiques what they chose to do. |
