Osmosis has always been one of my favorite illusions. However, I have always found it a bit unjustified. Why is needed a so large device (cabinet) that seemingly serves no purpose??
I just saw a video in which, at least for me, it all makes perfect sense. I really like the design of the apparatus, the scenography, the organ, the carriage, the cross ... In short, a simply beautiful set. What do you think? http://youtu.be/Aow6K56BZnI |

I really liked the carriage! very cool presentation, justification and prop!

It's a great idea... but if the front screen had been made from the proper material... it would have been more effective. This is what happens when you build your own props rather than relying the on the proper materials by an authorized builder...
the moiré pattern doesn't seem to happen in the authorized ones.. and it was distracting in Dani's version to the point of almost giving the effect away |

Forget the actual m***** technique...
The lay folks will just think they went behind the carriage when they vanish. What's to make them NOT think that? Really great presentation but too much "Magician's think" here imho... Nice prop design from the artistic point of view though...

Pakar you are right. Many will think that... And btw: Unauthorized props are even more worse, if they give the effect away... |

No builder would ever authorize that to be shown on international TV, let alone on the most magician-friendly show on earth.

Concerning the unauthorised props: Dani Lary build this version himself but he also has a Osmosis build by Bill Smith so as long as he doesn't sell his original Osmosis I can't see why he can't build a special version since he paid for the rights - of course on the condition that he doesn't sell any of the two versions that he has.
Not saying that he doesn't own any unauthorised props - he has many, He copied work from Franz Harary, Craig Dickens, Jim Steinmeyer, John Gaughan, the Majestix, Hans Klok, Gary Ouellet, Raphael and others!!! And then to know that he claims that he creates all his illusions himself. I think he confuses "create himself" with "build himself" |

GREAT way to have the prop make sense...
But what good is that thinking, if it's totally obvious how the trick is done? I honestly had NO IDEA how Osmosis was accomplished. Saw it live and while I had ideas, there was always that glimmer of I'm not positive... Well, this video solved that for me. While the carriage was truly a great idea, the two colors on each side of the cross were not. ashame, because it was a brilliant staging...ruined by bad building choices. |

What could cause that? Plastic mir... when you should use the glass one!? Staging is very nice.
