I just purchased one in new condition from a Café member this week. I have been dreaming of coupling a bill in lemon effect with my chop cup routine for over half a decade now. From everything I have read and based on a few personal recommendations from magicians whos opinions I hold in very high esteem, this sounds precisely like what I have been looking for. Are there any other versions I should be looking at as well? Thank you so much.

Cody fisher's Bet your bucks is my closer in every show.
it's structure is great and you load the bill in plain sight of everyone. John |

Chop by Craig Petty is a chop cup routine with a bill to lemon final. That uses their bill as the ball and any cup.

One stipulation that I forgot to include is it must allow for a standard chop cup and real time load so that any borrowed fruit from a bar could be used. Does this narrow down my search to Scott Alexander's Final Answer and Cody Fisher's Bet Your Bucks or are there any others on the market? Thank you so much for your invaluable insight guys. I truly appreciate it.

I would also vote for Craig Petty "Chop"..... you can use a standard chop cup, but you can use any cup too, and a "signed" bill to lemon. Check out the posts on this when you get a chance to give you further insight what you are looking for...hope this helps on your decision.

I can't seem to find Craig Petty's "Chop" available anywhere! Can someone help me with a source that has it in stock? Thanks!

It must be out of stock everywhere. I've also heard good things about Cody Fisher's Bet Your Bucks but that appears to be out of production as well just like The Final Answer.

Since The Final Answer is off the market temporarily, I have published some of the technique in this manuscript.
I talk about a cup and ball presentation in the manuscript that is one of my bread and butter routines I have used forever. http://www.scottalexandermagic.com/page0003.html |

Thank you for chiming in Scott. I recently purchased the Final Answer from a seller here and am eager to watch the DVDs when it arrives. I will also probably pick up your manuscript as well as I try to collect all available information on topics that I am studying. Keep in mind that I know little to nothing in regards to available methods to achieve this wonderful effect but from what I've gathered, both Scott Alexander's Final Answer and Cody Fisher's Bet Your Bucks appear to be the best suited for incorporating a real time loaded signed bill in lemon with my current chop cup routine? This is something I have dreamed about for over half a decade now. Craig Petty's "Chop" also looks interesting but I have yet to see the performance video because YouTube is blocked from here. Any information is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for all of your help.

While I don't do this routine myself, I've heard very good things about the Bill in Lemon in Barrie Richardson's "Theater of the Mind" book. Is there anyone here that is familiar with that routine and could they comment on it?

Yeah, that routine of Barrie's is pretty clever too!

John Carney has a great take on this effect as well; Fruit Cup in Carneycopia. Its a one-cup routine with a bill in lemon finale.

I also have a DVD of just the thing you are looking for in the works, but it will be a while until it comes out. Things are so crazy-busy right now, I probably wont get to it until the fall. Carney's work on it is really good though.

You are right when you say that I am no stranger to the chop cup but am relatively new to the subject of Bill in Lemon. I'm in the process of gathering as much information as I can to assemble the routine that I have been dreaming about for over half a decade now. I've found the friendships I have made and the knowledge I have gained invaluable here at the magic Café where magicians truly do help magicians! |
