My latest acquisition is the leatherman "Surge" but it's a bit heavy. Was wondering if anybody knew of a similar multitool that was light but still as functional?

Here is a link to the Surge; http://www.leatherman.com/product/Surge

Thanks in advance, for your input.
Just cause they say it, doesn't make it true.

Can't help. Mine's bigger:

Plus I carry the bit kit with it.

I've heard good things about Gerber. You might want to check them out.

There actually was one I remember seeing last year or so that was very multifuntional but streamlined. If I can remember what it was called I'll post it. I think I need to stop thinking about for a while and maybe it'll come to me.

I never liked the Leatherman style grips. I've always preferred the Gerber line of multi-tools. Here's mine:

I liked the multi tools in Deus Ex. So handy and useful. Except they wore out really fast.

I have a Buck knives bucktool. Has a great grip.

Also have a Victornox Swiss Card Lite. Serves another purpose.

Not a multi-tool, per se, but I collect Swiss Army Knives (mostly Victorinox).
My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".

Leatherman Charge TTi. I carry this mainly as a mnemonic reminder: to survive. Anything.

I use the sledge-o-matic, but it can get messy when I start to swing it around.

Juice.

But then again I like to carry a razor knife when I want something very sharp and a regular knife for other tasks. I'm of the mind that if you want a knife razor sharp carry a razor that way my EDC knife stays sharp longer as I'm not honing it down more than it's designed for.

But the juice is just right for little things and it doesn't take up too much room. Try to score the S2

You know, that reminds me of my Micra, which is on my keychain and I use all the time. The little scissors on it are downright handy.

Gerber MP400 belt pouch, Wenger Classic 14 Swiss in hip pocket, Leatherman Micra in watch pocket. No (little) job too tough. Smile

Do you cary it all in your batman utility belt?

When I leave the house I always carry my ATM card, my car keys, and at least one tube of chapstick.
