I saw Doug perform this live when I was little and the only video I have of Doug Henning doesn't have him performing it. But I do have this still image from one of his 1980 programs:

Met him when I was young. Performed at our family owned banquet hall for a corporate party. He started my interest. Very nice man.

Was performed on his network tv special in the mid-70s. Might be posted on the video site.

Was going through my stacks of videos.....found an old siegfried and roy show on tape. I barely recognized them, and wouldnt have had I not seen their cruise ship photos before. So it was way back in late 70s or early 80s latest. Anyone have any idea where I recorded this show from and what date? I didn't mark the tape for some reason...and don't remember ever recording or watching that show. Definitely before their las vegas days. Great one hour show with cats before they moved to white tigers.

Your tape of S&R WAS during their Vegas days. It would have been impossible any other way. First of all they were unknown before Vegas, so they wouldn't have had a TV special. Also before the Lido at The Stardust, they didn't even have an hour of material. While they were at The Lido, they developed their show and it was like a show within a show. The show was most likely recorded at The Stardust in Vegas in 1980.

There are now on the big auction, all 7 Doug Henning`s World of Magic Specials. CHEAP! These specials have been transfered from the LIVE TV performances to Dvd from VCR recordings. Yes, they are of poor quality & advertised as so, but if you loved Doug, like myself, you can still enjoy them.

All of his wonderful magic, dancing, singing, etc. are there, including Hindu Sands, his 2 wives, many famous guests & a Great HINDU ROPE TRICK, were he actually climbs the rope and vanishes!

Live performances. No cutting & editing and retakes as in the Criss Angel broadcasts. Criss has nothing on this guy.

I do not know the seller nor have any affiliation with him.

Have fun & enjoy,
John

I posted the video on Youtube but I got a licensing email and warning....plus they deleted the sound so it was worthless so I took it back down. Someone had to have complained as any Copperfield videos ive posted have had not problems. Sorry, I tried.

I bought the Henning TV specials off Ebay, arrived today, took a quick look, quality not too bad. All copies were sold from the auction

It's amazing that its been that long. I can remember putting a note on the refrigerator with a countdown to when Doug's first special was going to air. And I remember watching the Sands routine. Beautiful. I wonder how many of us can credit Doug Henning for getting us hooked on magic. Smile All of us who are in our 40s I'm willing to bet.

He was an amazing talent and a major influence for many including myself. I consider myself fortunate to have gotten to see him perform in Las Vegas many years ago. One of the greatest performances of magic that I have ever seen.
