Unless it does something which no other impression device on the market can do (or for far LESS price) then it cannot be genius. Impression devices can only go so far; what does this one have that the other 2964 do not?

WHY does it sound amazing?

Quote:

This totally new and innocent looking pad is actually one of the cleanest methods you will find today for a real-time peek. Imagine this…you hand out a small, pocket sized notepad to your spectator and ask her to note down any kind of special word, drawing or number that she can think of. Your spectator now tears the piece of paper from the spiral bound pad and places it into her pocket. Bear in mind that you can be totally turned away throughout this entire process. Once the paper is safely in your spectator’s pocket you retrieve the pad, close it and put it away. You now have all the information you require to perform a powerful mental revelation of the secret information in whatever way you wish.

The peek is direct, fast, covered by a natural motion and is totally self-contained. There are no electronics, nothing must be added or removed to obtain your peek and because the pad is put away before the effect really even begins, you are left clean at the end of the trick. Plus, the spectator can feely handle the pad without detection.

Theres nothing in here which cannot be performed with my NoMaD pad (including the description of the peek). So unless it turns out otherwise, what we have here is a variation on style of pad, not of method. If it runs off a nuclear powered battery THEN its a work of genius; but as such the description demonstrates nothing new. I'm hoping that the ad is deceptive, in the sense that the pad has more to offer than it says it does, but I highly doubt it. If the gimmick could be used in the dark for example then it would be a brilliant improvement over other pads out there, but it doesn't say it does that so I imagine it doesn't.

You can't just say the words "its genius" and not expect a guy like me to ask why its meant to be so good. Also Mark if you are reading this, its not an attack on you (or even your product) but it is a denial of the claim that the product is genius without some sort of explanation why.

Sorry but nowhere is it said that Mark said it was "genius". I'm not sure why you are ranting about it... it is just one man's opinion. Seems to be a bit childish, doesn't it.

I never said that mark claims its genius, he does not; atleast not that I know of. But others do, and I don't see why they think so. They are either:

1. Easily pleased

2. Biased

3. Privy to some information of genius goodness that I am not

I'm hoping its number 3 Smile

Edit: After a brief chat with the creator it may not be possible to see the peek in the dark 100% of the time so I'm removing the initial response.

I'm also intrigued and have to agree about the method. If it's no different than Nomad or Butterfly or Tommypad, then it has to be some groundbreaking method.

Oh, do we need special pen for this?

No special pen, any pen, pencil etc can be used. The method IMO is groundbreaking. Ive not seen anything like it before. When Marc showed me the method (not the peek) I swore, then laughed, then double checked, then swore again then laughed again...

Theres a gazillion ways to get info via p***ing, The Master Spy isn't about being groundbreaking in regards to getting the p**K. Its the MO that I like, Its brilliant and a welcome addition to the imp world.

Tom - It suprises me that you use a Nomad pad, especially as the gimmick is exposed on youtube; your usually quite paranoid about these things.

Andy
The basic tool for the manipulation of reality is the manipulation of words. If you can control the meaning of words, you can control the people who must use the words.

I don't use it anymore to be honest. I removed it from my jacket about a month ago and it hasn't been in since; not because I think its exposed too much but because I have better peeks.

In my opinion once one imp pad is exposed, they all are, and it doesn't matter whether people search for one type or another. It was either this or the parapad; and the parapad actually has some writing on it FOR them to google. They probably won't, but why chose the parapad one when you can have virtually the same thing but with no writing and a better locking system? (if a clunkier pen)

I like the NoMaD pad better than the other non-electronic stuff because it has a soft pen, which helps suggest that pressure does not need to be applied. And it forces them to draw nice and big. Its no more vulnerable to being exposed than any other impression pad; because when a spectator googles for such a device they do not search for "nomad pad revealed" they search for "magic drawing copy pad".
