I think it depends on whether or not you want folks to be able to handle them first.
There are a few folkks about who do things with spun sugar(sort of like glass blowing with hot sugar) but it is a skilled art form, and the availability might be scarce in your area. effects withi Marzipn, and confectioners tricks may be helpful, thick spaghetti sticks covered in a food coloring or think frosting, or even soaked in coloring and dried in bent shapes could give the illusion of nails, your local japanese market, or cake shop, will have edible rice paper and other items that can be worked with carefully, from glitter and what looks like mylar sheets, to paper you can roll up into "wooden-?-} handles or such. Sort of depends if you want them ready made, or are willing to do it yourself! For ready made, talk to the local cake candy decorating artist.

Also, do not overlook those old parrafin treats we used to get around Halloween-the wax lips not withstanding, remember the little wax bottles with the juice in them, though eating that much food grade wax might be a "show stopper" later in the day, using some for the smaller items you are looking for might do, again, check with your local confectioner, you might find someone willing to make the things you ask, the sugar clowing can be done in a mould, just like glass, so getting a lightbulb shape should nto be too hard, and until you have seen them up close, you really do not apreciate the beaty and detail you can get!
Also, check the sideshow section to get in tough with the fokls who do the glass eating and such. best of luck

Ants? Or Aunts?
If aunts, I have one that I would pay $20 to see that happen to. |
