Recently I had the pleasure of interviewing Anthony Jacquin for my Hawaii Hypnosis podcasts. I think I can honestly say that this is my favorite podcast to date. When you listen to this podcast, make sure to listen closely to Anthony's brief explanation of how he went from a "poor" subject to being able to fully hallucinate. Its quite fascinating!
Anthony I just want to thank you again for allowing me to interview you. Antonio http://www.hawaiihypnosis.org/podcasts/a......hacking/ |

Thanks for posting Antonio and for taking the time to organise the interview. There is a competition in the interview too. All you have to do is ask a good question about hypnosis based on the interview to stand a chance of being one of three lucky winners.
You can win Reality is Plastic - The Interview (between myself and Igor Ledochowski) Ripped Apart - The AI Model Details here http://www.headhacking.com/products Best of luck. Anthony

I am enjoying the podcast but may I suggest you get a nice mic for your podcasts? Anthony sounded great but you had too much echo. I personally use the Yeti for my MMA podcast and it works great.
http://www.bluemic.com/desktop/ They have some great options and your podcast will sound even better. Thanks for sharing. |

Ah, you're the Travis that
left that comment. I actually added it to facebook comments on there so it would be easier for Ant to see it. Thanks Antonio Quote:

Peripheral vision and hallucination has been around for a long time. I have a very old video of Bandler describing how he creates hallucinations for himself doing exactly this. It was filmed in the late 70s I think. There is nothing new here.
I even used it way back in the 70s with martial arts while at school to induce trance while sparring. We hallucinate all the time in that we project inner constructs on to reality. Tad James said at least 15 years ago that insanity is a sistuation when someone can't tell the difference between reality and their hallucinations. I am pretty sure they were inspired by others that went before them. Reinventing the old with new names. There is absolutely nothing new here. The only thing that's new here is the market. "doings into happenings" = conscious response to unconscious response. Self deception is a very pleasant trance. |

There is no conscious response in our model. There is no mind. There is certainly no trance. If you suspect this is just a name change, then you have misunderstood it. We are dealing with the potential for self-deception by testing our model with active research at one of the top medical universities in the UK. Not anecdotally, but controlled, recorded, tested and subjected to academic, scientific and statistical standards. This weekend we have been rolling it out in public. None of the formalities of hypnosis, indeed no mention of hypnosis, no induction, no expectation, no eyes closed, no trance, no indirect language, but all the phenomena from catalepsy right up to hallucinations. If you know how to do that good on ya. Anthony

Nice, thanks Ant...

I have no idea what Anthonys model says and no offence intended, but there is absolutely nothing new about obtaining hallucinations without a formal induction. I´ve seen this several times and I doubt they guy I saw do it was the first person in history to do it.
If you never fail, you're not trying hard enough.

"Ripped Apart" is a curious way to market something.
Anthony - are you saying that everything you and Kev taught up to this point was wrong and doesn't stand up to the "new" model? I don't really know much about your work, other than what I hear from others and the marketing stuff I see, but surely if theoretical ideas are presented properly, as theoretical in the first place, then there should be no need to rip anything apart - Just offer an alternative theory. |

"ripped apart" also seems to apply to all hypnosis that has gone before. This is the problem I have with this attitude it implies everyone else is wrong outdated etc. The implication is that the "new" stuff is on the cutting edge in front of everyone else when in fact its just another display of limited knowledge to most of the hypnotists on here that have years of experience. In fact its BEHIND most of what is commonly accepted now. Plus all inductions have their benefits none is really better than the other it depends on what they are being used for.

Hi Reg,
as you said you are not familiar with my work beyond the clips. If you were you would know that to date I have not been satisfied with any of the major theoretical models of hypnosis enough to be satisfied with one and stand by it. I have stated to every student of mine in the last decade and in RIP that it matters little which theory you align with, you can still be a great hypnotist. I still believe that. So to date in our products we have simply delivered instruction on what works for me and my team and how we perform and not gone into theory at all. In the last couple of years however Kev and I have been delving in to the scientific research behind hypnosis of which, we were surprised to find, there is plenty. This has encouraged a gradual paring down of what we think is useful and what is balloney. I am happy to admit that over the last 16 years I can trace a gradual shift in my thinking from state models, to special process to social psychological to cognitive behavioural. We feel we have added something to the work of the CB thinkers on the subject. This small but potentially significant leap is outlined on Ripped Apart. I am entirely satisfied I am not delivering the emperors new clothes or relabelling what I have already done. I would not treat my customers in that way or pile cash into doing research that has no benefit to us other than satisfying our curiosity. The title of our new audio refers to us 'Ripping Apart' our model and showing it's basic working. It is certainly not suggesting a departure from our earlier instructional contribution or any suggestion that all hypnosis that has gone before is wrong. I leave the arrogance to MP. However let me make clear there is no induction required or used in our AI model. Kirsch killed that for me, making clear with his research that the induction does nothing more than any other suggestion. Indeed it is just that just another suggestion. To suggest there is an induction in AI shows that MP has neither listened to it or understood the brief alluding to it on the interview with Antonio. It is tough when you are running a trance based model to let go of that, because how else would you change the state or kick off the special process. I can assure you in our current research at Kings College London every effort is made to ensure their is no induction. In my opinion it is and only ever has been just another suggestion. It does nothing to our state and does not increase suggestibility. It is as I said just a first suggestion. In fact most times not the first. Just a suggestion. I would encourage everyone not to judge a product by it's metaphorical title. Our first DVD is not actually about the approach of the Manchurians. Our second does not actually connect you with Trilby. Very happy to send you a complimentary copy of all of our stuff Reg if you have a genuine interest in watching or listening. Anthony

MP and I got together a year ago and came to the conclusion that, yes, we are all the same. However... we're also all different.
The big question here, for me, is this: Is Anthony talking about 'Hypnosis' and what he's discovered about Hypnosis, or... is Anthony talking about 'Anthony' and what he's discovered about Anthony?' And the answer will be proven to be incredibly simple. For, if true, this will become bigger than the 'rubik cube'. If not it will have as many followers as the 'Bobser testacle enhancer'. Hey, some we win, and some we lose.

Our preliminary study at KCL suggests that 90% of people are Anthony or they have been playing with your testicle enhancer and have very sticky hands.

I for one appreciate Anthony's explanation and would like to see MP take him up on this offer to review and give us his feedback based on it's content. That's a nice offer to share his thinking and findings and to offer your opinion.
While we're at it I also think Bobser should send you his 'Bobser testacle enhancer' also for an unbiased review. |

Thanks for clearing that up Anthony,
I hope to meet you in person next time I'm back in England, maybe later this year, so I'll pick up your stuff then. Cheers! Reg |
