I know I'm a little late to the game here, but wanted to share my 2 cents. The first time I performed this I was disappointed I didn't get the reactions everyone said. Afterwards I thought about what I could do differently or if an alternate handling would be better. Here is what I discovered after talking to my specators: take your time with the reveal! Move slowly and let it sink in. I was so excited to show everyone the corner of the bill was sealed in the gum pack, I had the spectaor pop it out before anyone else had a chance to see what happened. This is my downfall with a great effect - I get too excited and rush the ending. Since then I have really milked the reveal and it has been a dominating effect.
Also, I've been using the new packaged gum (Trident and Dentyne) with two rows of four and plastic backing instead of foil and it seems to work ok. Much easier to make, but I somtimes worry if it will be discovered. Do they still make the three rows of three? If so, I can't find it. |

We still get three rows of three here in England Blue and Red packs have you tried looking on line? Trident is very good for the effect and I have brought a few incase they stop packaging them the way they are at the moment, which they will at some point, all the best Shane

Hi - Just checking if Ultra Gum still works with current gum packaging - is so what gum are you all using? Thank you!

Yep, sure does. Just made up another ten packs over the weekend. Using the Dentyne Pure which I buy three to a pack at Target.

There was a very nice twist to ULTRA GUM on last Thursday's TRICKED ITV2 by Ben Hanlin.

As long as they keep making these gum packets I will always use Ultra Gum. Always incredible reactions that set up the belief in the specs mind that you undoubtedly have some kind of powers. Great stuff!!

Any updates on this trick a few years later? Are there still good gum options for this to buy (in the US)?

Don't know why...it's always my rushed setup at work I think, but we sell the types of packs of gum at my work... I literally can lean over from where I'm sitting, and look at the DVD. |

I wish I could still get these packets in Australia but haven't seen them for a while.Anywhere I can order from in the U.S?This was one of my favourite tricks to seal a gig, literally.

I'm not positive if a certain coffee shop there sales them, but a big one here in the U.S. does...it's their own brand, but it's the right type of packaging for the most part. |

Just ordered. Would be nice to pair this with Twister Flavor, which I haven't found in stock but hopefully can somehow put together with this (with a switch presumably).

I've re-used the packets down to only two pieces in each one, and that's from having half a dozen setup. It's the one trick besides in a flash that people always say is better than anything they've seen on television.I've been looking for substitutes for the gum but haven't found anything as convincing or dumbfounding. |

I am still using this all the time. I have been buying packs of Dentyne Ice at Sam's Club every time I go in. I believe I am paying $7 for a 12 pack of packages.
Maybe once a year, I have to make all new gimmicks because the manufacturing process slightly cut them differently, but the reaction this effect gets is well worth the effort of remaking them. But I usually make two dozen gimmicks up at a time and takes me about an hour. |

I love this trick so much!
It's so sad, that these packaging-style dissapeares from the stores. In Germany it's gone kompletely. I got some packs on Amazon, but some day people will start forgetting this packaging, and then they will wonder, because it it not everyday-use anymore... so sad! |

Has anyone been able to find a good place to get the foil packs online? I have only had the option of the clear backed gum in my area and from what I have seen at Amazon etc.
