A mini laser pointer to "meld" the card at the end is one I've used when I can't use a lighter. Not as impactful, but it works.

I do like the torn and restored plot, and I already have a few handlings in my DVD collection.
But I decided to download Counterfeit because I wasn't aware of it previously, the burning of the final piece was something a bit different, and coming from Wayne it was likely to be good. Having watched it a few times, I'm *really* happy with it. It does exactly what you see in the trailer, and as you practice the way that the pieces of card go back together looks like magic in your own hands. Wayne's teaching is excellent, the video is full 1080p HD and production standards are first class. Couldn't be happier with this purchase. Craig |

Just saw that and made my correction... Thanks
EDIT: Well, I will chime in and say I have both. Counterfeit Hollingsworth and Counterfeit. The first one was Wayne's Lecture DVD explaining this effect very well. I have had that for a number of years. Counterfeit is the Worldwide release of the same effect. Its updated footage and more nuance's added to the effect than in the Lecture one. The effect in itself is the same as the lecture dvd for those that have that one. I still liked Counterfeit for the small nuances that were added. In all honesty there isn't much to review here. This is Barebones as torn and restored effect that in all Honesty YOU WILL DO!. Even practicing it is fun to do and once you get proficient with the moves, you will be looking for reasons to do this, I think it is that strong. I've done it completely surrounded and in repeat situations where I have had someone who has seen it before come up to me and say "Dude, I was behind you the whole time, I don't get it. Wow!" Is it true to most TnR effects? YES! if you think about everything that happens, what is hidden from a spectator and what is not is exact from most all other TnR's. I am ready to do this everyday so for me its a worker.

This looks amazing! What's the difficulty level? Either way, I'll definitely pick this up!

Easy to learn hard to master if that makes sense.

This is a really practical effect, love the teaching as it is really easy to follow.
Wayne Houchin has a certain class about him that really comes over in the video, its actually relaxing watching it, due to his tone and the production. This will definitely be one I practice. Recommended (just be sure to order enough decks to get it down) |

I have always been somewhat perplexed by magicians' exclamations that Guy's 'The Reformation' is too difficult. It's really not difficult at all. I was one of the original owners of the 50 exclusive VHS tapes that Guy sold in the early 90s, and I've been doing it since then. It truly is not a difficult trick. Mind you, I'm someone who considers my card skills to be very good, but there are many things that I don't do and that I find to be much, much more difficult than Guy's trick (i.e., bottom dealing, second dealing). In fact, every piece-by-piece, signed card restoration that came in its wake was always more convoluted and difficult in handling, or sacrificed an important element.
I think Wayne's solution is very nice, and practical, but really no more practical than Guy's, and this is one bit of magic where I feel that the signature strengthens the effect immensely. Do correct me if I'm wrong. But Wayne's does not employ a signed card, right?
It's all in the reflexes.

No, the card is not signed. But Wayne explains at the end of the instructions, why he doesn't think that this is necessary with his version.

The pain with Theory 11 is that they don't have PayPal so I cant do business with them, would be so easy and id spend a fortune if they added this feature. Oh well.
