Ummmmmm seriously? Snails are mollusks, which in turn are gastropods (phylum), which, indeed, are part of the animal kingdom, so no.
Were you thinking that perhaps they were a vegetable?

That got me wondering about lapsed, reformed and born again vegetarians.
I admire those who take that path for reasons of ecology, water use and (presumably) concentration of nasty chemicals in their diets. To the rest- have a look at time lapse photography of life in the vegetable kingdom and then decide of animals are really so different. Kind gives that "let the sun shine" song a different meaning.
