It seems to me -- perhaps I am as strange as some think I am -- if I were considering buying something, it would be the opinion of those who already own the item who's opinion I would be primarily interested in. How about you?????????????

I have yet to see anyone who has paid their hard earned money to buy the book be critical of it. I think that says volumes.

It was my understanding that they are taking pre-orders and the book won't be released til next month.

Besides, sometimes SILENCE speaks volumes too. I have seen expensive items hyped before release and then, afterward, you can hear nothing but crickets. I recall last year holding off on buying something until someone posted a review. No one did. But what many did do was post in "Let's Make a Magic Deal!" that they were selling their copy. That should have been the tip off but it did enable me to check it out at a lower price.

So, not seeing criticism doesn't necessarily mean that people like something. It can mean A) They don't want to rock the boat B) They don't want people to know they were suckered and/or C) They don't want to diminish their chances at re-selling it at a decent price.

My understanding is Whisper is out now---are you thinking of "This way up"?

Yes. Must be. Oh well, "six of one..." Smile

So, have any reviews been posted?

The two effects are so similar in price, timing, "limitedness", and even to a degree effect that it's easy to get them mixed up. Smile

I have seen the effect live performed by Ken Dyne, and he explained how he did it afterwards. I must be honest to say that I think the book is overpriced. It is a good effect, but even though I'm fairly new to mentalism, there is not much new in Whisper. Just one thing, as I see it. But people are willing to pay 200 pounds for this book so maybe the price is right, because it is the market that determines the price. I will also say that this is for stage use, not for family and friends.

Just to make it clear. I have not read the book myself, and I do not know of supplements that are written by others. I have only seen the effect and the explanation.

I think Kennedy has learned something good here.
Don't explain anything to beginner, they'll split on you face to thank you.

Seeing a beginer doing the splits on Kennedy's face creates a horrible picture in my head.....Not the best place for a whisper.. I need therapy now

Not my cup of tea:

too high priced for the basic idea behind it: not entirely new thinking either

no matter how much you get paid in your gigs because this is an irrelevant objection

I asked this before but didn't see a reply. How does this compare to Derren Brown's "Be a Mind Reader for 10p"?

Don't know guerrilla: I only know that mr.Al Mann had some similar ideas in his long gone booklets:

See a ":" there, PSiDroid. Were you about the mention the name of the booklet(s)?

If you weren't, consider this my request that you do, please.

PsiDroid,

I too would be interested to know which of Al's books you are referencing. Having been part of the "AME Thinktank", I know that he created some amazing ideas, and would simply like to revisit something that I may have overlooked in the past. Feel free to PM me if you feel it inappropriate to post the information here. Thanks!

Psidroid my father is Al Mann, so I have all his works published and unplished and even only talked.
Unfortunately I can read only 2mn per days, so if you'll be willing to tell me in which book is this routine, it will be great.
Don't Pm me, you know I don't like you, rather send me a postcard.
