It's a bit more complicated than you would think. And, because of some previous incidents, I have to say: a) My official business response is: Don't mess with it, lol. b) And my friend response is: Don't mess with it, lol. I've had mine scratched to all heck, and it doesn't matter. Truly. That said, I understand that everyone has different tastes. So if I were to take it to a machine shop and, again, this is something I'd never do, but if I were to hypothetically take to someone with a beltsander, I'd hypothetically inquire to whether they had a brand new 60 belt around. Hypothetically. Also, if we can, just to further discourage anyone from turning theirs into a a very expensive paperweight, I'd love it if we could keep all sanding questions to PMs and such. If anyone has any questions, I'll always be available to answer them. Guaranteed. Your pal, jamie

I certainly don't wish to give any impression whatsoever to others that there is any need to be worrying over whether or not that IR will have to be sanded at any time. This thing, for all practical purposes, is indestructible! For those that might accidentally drop theirs in a tree shredder I fear that it will prove to be quite expensive to replace the blades in the aforementioned tree shredder so just send the bill to Jamie! lol OK...a bit of an exaggeration, but I'm sure everyone will get the idea.

I've only had mine a week, but I don't think I would ever touch it with sandpaper. I used a Silicone Gun Cloth to wipe it down the night that I got it, and haven't touched it with the cloth since. The Silicone was visible on IR, and I used a dry towel to remove all visible traces. But there must still be a protective layer on it! I can't decide if I want mine to rust or not, but so far there is no sign of rust, and it's been handled a lot! When it starts to rust I will make a decision regarding my like or dislike for it. If I don't like it, I'll use fine steel wool! It's already got nicks on it (how the heck did that happen? I've been pretty careful, and it's made of STEEL!), and I was annoyed at first, but I'll live with it!

How many of you noticed that we tried to match the coin on the outside of the packaging to your country? Not the easiest, but we've been trying!
~jamie http://www.SendWonder.com You used a coin from Poland (I'm pretty sure) on mine, which is kind of odd since I'm here in the USA and I'm sure US quarters must be circulating in Vancouver, but I actually like it BETTER that way- the Polish Eagle on the coin looks kind of Gothically Awesome and adds to the packaging in a unique way. A little touch that I loved was putting my initials (JB) on the instruction envelope, which flew over my head for a few days. I actually thought they were your initials, Jamie, and that the final "G" had come off. It wasn't until I realized that you were Jamie "D" Grant, and not Jamie "B" Grant, that I figured out what you had done. Yeah, it really is a small touch, but I LOVED it when I figured it out. That would not have happened if you were selling it through other outlets, and it proved to me that you really care about your customers! Thanks a lot! |

Hey guys,
About 10 days ago, I won the Industrial Revelation competition for sharing the story about the dark year me and my mother have been through. I received the prize about an hour ago in the post and as a thank you gesture, I filmed me performing it for the first time, for Ava and Jamie to see that they really are sending wonder and this is what REAL magic is about. My mum only has one brain operation left and she's looking so much better now! I just want to quickly say thank you to the hundreds of people that have been messaging with support and good vibes. YouTube :: Thank You Happy Holidays, Lloyd |

I, like Lloyd, want to take a second to publicly thank Jamie and Ava for their generosity this holiday season.
I was also one of the three winners of the contest, and I won the Industrial Revelation for a very good friend of mine who popped right into my mind when I was considering who I thought deserved one. He's one of the nicest, most generous guys you could meet and he's totally crazy about magic. He's pretty new to it but it's open to learn anything and everything he can. Unfortunately, he goes to a bit of a rough school and he tends to get heckled a fair bit.... he rarely even gets to perform an effect from start to finish. He keeps his head held high though and perserveres, which I admire. I felt like an Industrial Revelation would be the kind of effect for which hecklers wouldn't stand the chance. Mr. Grant, my friend Suleiman received the package a few days ago and is completely thrilled with it. He tried it on his hecklers, and they were devastated. Thank you so much for helping me do this for a good friend!

Congrats and best wishes to Lloyd and Michael - well deserved!
...and the good feelings and karma continue as my daughter Tira received her amazing "Anything Is Possible" bottle by mail today. She was completely stoked to get it, and actually waited until I got home to tear into the package to reveal another one of Jamie D Grant's hand made miracles Here is a photo taken at the magic moment - it is simply a perfect little miracle... and some real magic in a child's eyes. Thanks again Jamie and wishing you and your family the happiest of holidays! Click here to view attached image.

I am a happy new owner of the IR trick. I thought I would share the routine/patter angle that I have come up with.
"I am worried that I am not earning enough money doing this magic stuff. I have come up with what I think is a brilliant idea to increase my magic income. I call it Pay-As-You-Go magic. I ask my audiences to pay me for each trick before I perform it. So far this is working out splendidly. I'd like to do a card trick for you now. It isn't much of a card trick so it will only cost you twenty five cents. Do you have a quarter? Great. This works exactly like a vending machine. You put the quarter in the vending slot and push it through and then I can do the trick with the cards." (I have them put the quarter through the deck and take it out of the bottom and give it to me. While they are handing me the coin I gently place the box on the table very softly to hide the sound of the weight of the steel gimmick.) "Since you have paid for the trick we will get on with it. Please take the cards out of the box and shuffle them." (There are great reactions as they experience first the weight of the deck and again when they remove the slug of steel!) ....after the reactions have died down.... "Well, looks like I am not going to be able to do the card trick after all - but I hope you have enjoyed what you have seen!" (Put the steel back in the box, pocket it and get on with another miracle - if you can ) |

Hey Rhett, that's certainly a great way to break into a performance of further tricks. Good thinking as jazzy said.

Received my IR today and it is everything it was promised to be. My girlfriend who is an "educated magicians wife" was instantly blown away. She didn't even want to know how it is done since she doesn't want any more magic ruined for her.
Thank you very much Jamie! Great job! Now, enough with the adjectives - put me on the VIP list *** it! And happy Holidays to you all!
