Thanks for clarifying. I too have seen silly things and feared your post was exemplary of a continued trajectory downward. Happy to know you are as reactionary as I.
Having said that, if this is what the trick looks like even when it's flashing, it still looks better than 99% of the excrement being released today. |

I think everyone who gets this is going to be truly wonderfully surprised. There's only one problem that I have to deal with... I'm currently getting the instructions drawn up (Literally! They're being hand drawn by an amazing artist here in town. I am super lucky and super pumped that he's agreed to do it!) and have to get my crediting in order. Unfortuneately, for the life of me, I haven't been able to identify the creator of the first Matchbox Penetration. I appreciate that it's over 50 years old, but I would still love to know who was the first. I've been able to track down most of the different creators and versions over the years, but still haven't nailed down the first. If anyone can help me out with this, I would be really grateful. It would be best if we discuss it over here: http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......um=109&1 Also, on the subject of instructions, this is going to be ready to perform right out of the box! The instructions will be a 1-sheet (albeit an amazing 1-sheet!) so there's no DVDs to deal with, or wasted time. I'll also be including the card box and even the quarter. I've never really liked having to search around the house for items, lol. Excited, jamie

Hey Jamie, see if you can use Truthtellers quote on your advertising:
"It ain't excrement!" -TT All kidding aside, this trick looks amazing! It's definitely going onto the list. Best, MJ |

Mj, if you are going to quote me, please get it correct.
It reads: "it's BETTER THAN excrement!" ;) |

I really took some time and asked myself, "When I buy a magic effect, what am I looking for, with regards to the purchase itself." A) Not having to do anything, lol. (Cutting, gluing, smelting, etc.) B) Excellent customer service. (If I want to ask the creator a question, is he accessible.) C) Brevity in content. Just give me the goods- no filler! Don't get me wrong, I love smelting and watching four-hour DVDs as much as the next guy and, sometimes , there really is a place for it. Other times, though, I just want to take the trick out of the box and start having fun right away. This will be one of those times! Thanks for reading, watching, commenting, and your patience! We're getting close, jamie

Me too!
Well done Jamie, particularly for not just making a great, workable version of the existing 'matchbox block', but for taking it to the next level. Kudos! And I'll go further than Truthteller: I think it's better than ice-cream. And you can quote me ;-) Cheers, ME

I know nothing of the method involved here, so I have to ask: can the coin be signed?

RE: Pricing questions, PMs, and e-mails.
First of all, thanks to everyone for all the questions (both public & private). It's really awesome that so many people are taking to I.R. And here's the 100% honest breakdown. Casting aside the money and time invested for the past dozen or so prototypes, I'm left with the base question of: Where do I want them made? Overseas- where it would be significantly cheaper? Or locally, where it would be more expensive, but I can be part of the hands-on team for design and quality control? I'll be truthful, it's nice to make moohlah off of something you've created and believe in. And by having them made overseas, not only will I make more money, but it will also be a cheaper product for you guys... However, I just can't do it. Not only is there a bit of a global moral issue for me, but I also want to be part of every aspect of something that I'm putting my name on. So, although it's going to be a higher cost, it will be a better product that we can honestly feel good about purchasing. That's the idea! I do appreciate though that then you pay this kind of moohlah, there's a certain level of customer service that needs to go with it. That's why I'll be including my personal business card with every purchase and will personally answer any and all questions you have about routining, handling, care, etc. I'll be there to ensure that this is an effect that you will use, and love, for the rest of your life. That's my goal, and I'm sticking to it! One last note about the following price- I've made it as low as I'm absolutely able. So much so that I'll be shooting myself in the foot a bit with regards to distribution, as I won't make anything if I went that route. So I'll be on my own with this one, meaning it will probably only be available from my website. Industrial Revelation: $80 Coming soon. And, thank you, truly for understanding my position and the level of service I'll be providing, jamie http://www.SendWonder.com

Hi Jamie. I, for one, am very glad that you're keeping the production local. There are still some of us around who are willing to pay more for a product that's made at home. I'm sure I'm not alone in this sentiment.

Just one word - Amazing!
P.S. I sense that this will soon be a collector's item.

Years ago I had exactly the same effect but is was a copper block in a matchbox. You could put a needle through it.
I assume this uses the same principle. However, with a card case and a coin or a knife it is far more impressive. Nice ! |

I just saw this thread for the first time and watched the demo twice. There's a gimmick being flashed? Really? If so, it flew right by me. I'm fooled (and entertained, as Jamie always makes the best videos!).
