I use loops all the time. If you're careful with your lighting conditions and try not to be wearing black when you use them, you'll find they're great!
I've had no trouble with mine stretching up to 25 centimetres at all and they break very rarely. I think the floating ring and the haunted deck play very well indeed (the hookup for the ring is great). I have purchased the booklet and wouldn't recommend to it anyone else, if you play around with the loops and some every day objects, you should find that you can come up with most of the ideas in the booklet and many more besides. I always let it snap off the fork and onto my wrist right after the fork gets moving. Then I can switch hands that I'm moving over top and the momentum of the fork makes it look like I'm still causing it to spin. You can even pass your hands (or a spectator's hands) all around it at this point. -Christian

I just got the "million dollar knot" by Penquin Magic. It makes it easy to make your own loops. I've been wearing one ever since.
Losander has a video that explains hookups. I saw him lecture at Muhlenburg College a couple of months ago. The stuff you can do is amazing. |

I just found the thread for tying your own loops at http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......6&28
It looks easier than the million dollar knot. I'm going to try it and let everyone know. |

And here's a great source for elastic thread: http://www.wizardcraft.com. It's craig dickson's site, and he has a great deal on a lifetime supply of the elastic stuff.
It's the same stuff in kundalini rising, but I split it thinner so that it's even harder to see. It's great, I didn't have the gumption or the werewithal to perform it when I first got it several years ago, but I did it over thanksgiving and people were simply stunned. It was good timing, too - they were not super-saturated with the garden variety 'pick-a-card'ies. Anyway, with the thread from craig's site, you can split it as thin as you want, so that you have the ultimate control in your loops' specs. Not to mention it's ridiculously cheap - you get a whole spool for $10 or $15! And Craig is a *very* nice guy. |

Generally, I'm heavy handed. Using John George's "Valentine Deck" (a.k.a Haunted Pack)the loops have lasted many performances.
One suggestion by J. George is to have a second loop loaded on the left wrist. Then practice the HP with the left hand. Also, in case of a break during a performance, have a "plan B." My homemade loops are very weak. The IT I'm using is not the same material from which the loops are manufactured. Nick Maggio |

Agree that the Loops made by Yigal Mesika are great.
Still when practicing and building a Loops routine into your act it requires many of them, I find the Professional Elastic Invisible Thread (AKA Miracle Thread) who is Flat Black to be the best. -e-

Check the forum, use the search.
Quick answer: head over to http://www.wizardcraft.com and buy their elastic thread spool; cut off piece about 8 inches long, split it (fray the end and then draw off a thread, like string cheese), and tie it off (double knot, then single knot with ends of double knot). The spool's around $15, and will last you a lifetime, unless you use 50 loops a day and break them all. Cheerio, maurice |

Peter Nardi of Alakazam Magic will soon be selling a device for making loops the easy way.

There's an old method of making knots used by seamstresses involving taking the ends of the thread and rolling them between one's fingers that seems to work pretty well for me...! Saves LOTS of time trying to tie the blasted stuff off with a pair of aging eyes!

If anyone knows the one-fingered knot for tying balloons (Marvin Hardy's Advanced Balloons), that's based on the seamstress knot.

Gotta Love the loops. I use them for a dancing pen, bic style. Also I do a floating ring bit that later I found Chad S doing a similar bit, and we compared. I have even done the heavy class rings. It is hard to explain, but I can feel the strength of it and know if it will stand up to the task.
Bottom-line you will break them in the beginning, I have sold a lot of these and always gave a discount on the second packet (I am in Korea now and can not help you with a discount, in case you were wondering) Also, I do the static bill (not sure of the name) from Losander's Magic Anytime...Anywhere.

Not similar with the Erectile, I will describe what I do. I start with borrowing a bill and I rub it on my head adding "you thought I got my haircut for the Army" and then I place the bill on my hand, palm is horizontal at this point. Then I turn my hand vertical, with the back of hand facing out and I do the old static wand, holding it the bill with my index finger from the opposite hand and shaking my hand showing it is stuck. While holding that pose I state "it really doesn't work" and turn my body 180 to expose that I am holding it with my finger. I shake my hand to show how it was stuck. Then I release my hold and drop my hand, while keeping the other hand vertical with the bill suspended to my hand. Then I look over at my hand, as I am surprised it is stuck. Then I add more patter at this point and someone always says turn your hand over. I do turn my hand over while bringing up the other hand to brace the bill. Then I remove my hand that is bracing the bill and it is stuck to the palm, palm facing down still. Then I pull it down on the suspended bill from my palm and then let it go and it goes back up to my palm and I turn over my hand and hand it back to the spectator.

I love loops until I forget I am wearing them and put my hand in my pocket. Nine times out of ten when I pull my hand out of my pocket the loop has performed its last effect. The Vanish.....

I find that the thread that comes with Million Dollar Knot is quite visible (compared to the regular IT I used to work with). How are Yigal Mesika's loops compared to the pro thread from Penguin Magic? I heard you guys speak a bit about the Spider Pen. Is the thread as invisible as it says? I have yet to try out loops on an audience. I am always afraid of it being visible in broad daylight. Can the Spider Pen be used outside at noon with the sun up?

I'm sort of new to loops but I find that it gets fantastic reactions everytime.I have been tying my own loops using the seamstress' method and it seems to work well enough for me.
