I offered to sell my girlfriend some carbon credits because our garbage can was over full due to her not recycling.
She wouldn't go for it. So I think I may have to call interpol. Is interpol the agency that deals with this stuff, since it's an international agreement?

It's a scheme and a power grab and as Carrie said rip-off under the guise of "saving the planet". Bad bad idea with far-reaching effects that I don't even want to think about. We can't get an accurate global temperature, we cant accurately predict the weather anywhere from one day to the next nor can the most powerful computers accurately model the climate system yet we are going to put some best guess maximum carbon value ceiling on the entire planet. And then try to control that and attempt to live within this self-imposed constraint??? Great idea, yeah let's do that. Breathing tax anyone?

For those who call it a power grab or a rip-off, can you explain why? Is the problem with setting limits on emissions? Or with using a free market mechanism to control them?

It's like this:
If you have eclipsed your adult beverage limit, you find someone who has not eclipsed their limit and offer to share your evening's exploits with them in exchange for their more sober abilities; as in they drive you home. Then you throw up in their car. |
