As a person who has seen Tom Frank do this live, this DVD is a MUST GET for anyone who wants to do ring routines. He has done this in high class ball room and also raking in the cash from performing this on top of a newspaper stand in Pike Place Market to help his kids out.
Who ever wants a GREAT Ring routine, this is it my friend. Tom has worked on this for more then 20 years and it paid off Congrats on releasing your DVD Tom! And everyone else, go get the dang thing Tony C. |

I concur this is a great DVD of a wonderfully esoteric ring routine that has lived on the periphery of the magic scene for far too long. I took the routine from this DVD and combined it with several moves from the Cellini Lord and Master of the Rings DVD and developed a performance piece that will make a perfect closer for my Edgar Allan Poe Show.

The Legend of The Five Mystic Rings is an instructional DVD, which presents the Jack Miller five-ring routine to poetic patter as performed by Tom Frank.
It is a professionally produced DVD, which includes a commercially pressed and printed disc in a standard case. The cover sheet is nicely printed in full color. The package also contains a printed copy of the poem used in the routine. On this printed sheet each line of the poem is accompanied by a short note explaining the moves that accompany it. The disc has three sections: Performance Instructions Tom Frank Live The first section is a studio presentation of the routine with voiceover. It is done in a very dramatic and stylish way. The lighting and sound quality are excellent as they are in all sections of the disc. The instructional section of the disc is very well done. Again filmed in a studio, Tom goes over each part of the routine in order. His instructional style is very good. He is personable on camera and clearly knows the routine quite well. He is able to start and stop at each of the crucial steps, showing them at different speeds and angles, without breaking stride. The routine itself is very nice. It includes a couple counts, several different links and unlinks, and has a very visual display at the finish. It moves naturally, and has logic to the way the different steps in the routine are put together. The poem is patterned after Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Raven”. It follows the moves perfectly and gives a sense of choreography to the routine. Personally, one of the things I like about this is that it creates the feeling of a manipulation routine set to music without requiring a sound system. The last section of the disc shows Tom presenting the routine on stage in front of a live audience. It’s not clear where this show is taking place, but it appears to be a corporate event. It is well filmed and the light and sound quality is very good. You cannot see the audience, but you can hear their positive reactions, and see how Tom plays the routine live as opposed to the studio presentation at the beginning of the disk. The set of rings used in this routine consists of two singles, a chain of two, and a standard key. The live presentation clocks in at just under three minutes. Every move in the routine is clearly taught on the video. This is a short and sweet disc featuring high production quality with a very usable, entertaining and unique linking ring routine. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase and look forward to learning and performing this routine. |

I just purchased this dvd direct from Tom Frank, and not only like it very much, but thought his customer service was excellent.
Thank you, Tom! Mark
My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".
