Hey, this is a stupid little vanish I have been using a lot. It looks like “now you see it now you don't”, but its not. It’s un-gimmicked. I'm just trying to find the name of it. If any of you guys could help me please, here is a video.
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/john.rorrison/cvtm.wmv This is the video on my own server, so no one should have any problems with it. alan rorrison |

I think you have to be a member of sleightgeek.com first. It's free to register. Go there.
And that video was AWESOME! I love coin tricks, but only know a few. Was that a hard sleight? What is the name of it? Thanks.

You don't need to be a member of sleight geek to see it now. Any help on the name of it? alan |

Lostnlonley,
You wrote that you are performing this vanish a lot. In what conditions are you performing it? …Just curious. |

I’ve mostly been performing it to friends and at the pub, etc. but I am doing it A LOT for the simple fact it works well.

I love it! I would like to see it performed in person though. Any angles it can't be done from?

WOW,
What a cool vanish Alan !! . . . I LOVE IT . . . I had to watch it a few times to finally figure it out. It's brilliant, keep up the good work. I can see why larger coins would be a problem though. Here is a few vanishes that I do: http://www.infinite-image.net/gone/vanish2.wmv http://www.infinite-image.net/gone/vanish1.wmv http://www.infinite-image.net/gone/NoCOLOR.wmv I hope you enjoy these as much as I enjoyed your clip Alan. Take care, Greg Rostami |

Trust me Greg, I’ve seen your clips. Lol… I’m only joking and the larger coins are not a problem. I do it with a 50 pence (large.) You just need to adjust the handling a little, lol, and no, there are no angles you need to take into account if you do this right. I’ve done it surrounded before. It’s a simple little vanish.

Cool vanish lostnlonley. It’s the old in through the nostril vanish and out of the mouth production isn’t it!? Easy to do, but leaves a bad taste in your mouth
I also like the new clips by Greg! The second vanish still looks great, and I still like it! The first vanish is spectacular, but I am a little concerned with the recovery from the concealment. I think that this kind of concealment is very effective, but hard to get out of convincingly. I would love to hear some thoughts and suggestions on how to do this. I have seen Sankey’s Messiah vanish (similar to a thing early on in Bobo’s) which has the same concealment and also the same trouble with taking the coin out of the concealment. His approach uses the offbeat as he looks the spectators in the eye after the astonishing vanish. |

This is the same thing with a much bigger coin. I don’t know why, but here it is. …Lol.
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/john.rorrison/cvtm2.wmv As I said, with a little adjustment and misdirection, size don't matter. …Lol. alan |

Can you use a big 3 inch coin? j/p... anyway I think I figured it out (…only watched it once). I think that's very clever and you do a great job of it. So no one has a name for it? I'll have to check Bobo's MCM to see if it's in there.

Alan,
I have NO IDEA how you do IT! That is AWESOME! I would PAY to learn that trick. Please PM if you you'd like to sell it or trade it or just tell me where to find it. Peace, love, and GOOD MAGIC, Greg |

If I knew where else you could find it I would tell you, but I made it up and don't know if anyone else has done it, so... I will not sell or trade or even talk about it here yet as I can. I don't have anywhere near 50 posts so I can’t and I don't know if I will in the future. Thanks for your kind words alan.

lost,
I am not 100% sure what you are doing, but I think part of the move might be an unpublished coin vanish of Howie Schwarzman's. It's tough for me to say since I don't know exactly what is going on. |

Alan,
It would seem to me that you are not doing exactly the same thing on both vanishes although the effect is the same. I could be wrong. It would also seem to me that this vanish would need to be performed seated and would have some tricky angles. None of this is bad, by the way, these are just observations. I haven't seen anything quite like it before with coins, but it does resemble a thimble vanish in a way. I, for one, am not fond of coin productions from the mouth (no matter HOW they taste) as saliva covered coins are kind of icky, and the reproduction from the mouth isn't actually required from what I see. And you perform this at a "pub?" No disrespect but you don't look old enough to be hanging out in a pub. <S> Good work. Cordially, tr |
